The TOTM Support Group

I'm not sure what the market is for antiques in this field that said it might just attract different buyers - I read an article once about people selling second hand shoes and what they used to put in the listings to get more from them from fetish people who wanted worn shoes rather than people who might wear them!

LOL Shelley, I think that auction could even make the tabloids :D

After 9 months of no periods I got my totm back in November - and it lasted for 6 weeks, complete with much pain and clots the size of a hand, etc - but am very happy to report that it finally stopped on NYE - and I am hoping that's a final end to it. After 40 years of them I am more than over the whole joy of being a woman business!

Just thought I'd share :D

I used to have my periods once every blue moon, sometimes I didn't have one for a year or two, then they were quite regular for a while and then stopped again...

All that changed last year. I got my TOTM on 31/12/2013 and was bleeding non stop until April, most of it really heavy with big blood clots. Then it stopped for a month as it should and in May I had a normal period for 5 days. Again it stopped for a month and in June I got it again. This period lasted until the beginning of September, then it stopped for a week and started again and is still on now...no end in sight.

It's getting really annoying. Sometimes I get stomach cramps and if I do I need to find a toilet REALLY quickly, as in the next few seconds I will bleed so much that it will soak my knickers and trousers (even if I am wearing a pad or tampon)... I've already had to rinse my trousers at work a couple of times, as I didn't make it on time... I just hope this stops soon...

Oh crikey that was the same with me, only not as long, you poor thing! I could handle the clots (well, not really, they freaked me out, but were still manageable) - but the gushing made it impossible to stay clean and fresh.

I don't know if this has made any difference but I started taking Menopace Original, plus magnesium, Vit E (and more recently sage tablets) and it did stop - but that may have been coincidence. I read online that this is common with perimenopause, and it's all the estrogen imbalance?

I really hope you find a solution hun, it's really horrible and I feel for you xxx

I can imagine! All the best for next week - it might just simply be that you need something to straighten out the estrogen?

Mrs S - I just read that Vit B6 is very good for the regulation of hormonal activity - remember to ask your specialist x

Hope so love :D Will keep my eye out for the DM outrage of your auction ;) ;) :p

Nope things get sorted out for you soon Mrs S and that it's something treatable - good luck! xx

I have been to see the gynecologist yesterday. She was great. She asked loads of questions and really seemed to take me seriously (not like the one I've seen last time, who just looked at my file and nothing else). She also took a sample from the lining of my womb and a blood sample to make sure I am not anemic, as I've been bleeding for so long.

She said it's probably to do with my weight and the PCOS, which made me feel a bit embarrassed, as I know I am overweight. She also said that she knows that women with PCOS gain weight so quickly and it's hard for them to lose it. That made me feel a lot better, as I didn't feel like she thought I was lazy or something. She suggested that estrogen tablets or a contraceptive coil might help straighten out my cycles (and of course losing weight). I opted for the tablets, as she said I would have to leave the coil in for at least a year (preferably 5 years) and as I am TTC I don't really want to do that. She understood.

I hope the tablets will help and I hope I'll be able to lose (enough) weight soon...

Oh well done hun, I bet it's a relief to talk to someone who actually listens!

And I bet the tablets will be the business, let's hope they work quickly xxx

So glad that she's helping :) Hope the tablets help :)

I had a mirena coil. I didn't feel any problems with it going in - and didn't use any anesthetic/numbing stuff etc despite scary sounding clamps being used - but the moods it left me with? Cooooor! So angry over everything!

Two days to go to being due on. Three days until next WI. Sods law.

Hope you're all well xx

Mine started early hours of this morning and my cramps are killing me. I'm 3 days late and it's been messing around with my weigh ins for the past 2 weeks, hopefully the bloat is gone by Monday's weigh in and I get a good result.

Thankfully though they seem to be getting lighter the lighter I get.
Anyone got any advice on easing cramps? I do the usual tablets and hot water bottle but it doesn't seem to last long :(
