I started sw 12 jan 09 and iv lost about 10lbs so far which is fine but there is still so many more lbs to go.its gonna take till july for me to reach my goal and it seems so far away!! iv never had so much weight to lose and its a tad daunting how does everyone keep going?

Positive thinking- don't think about the July- that is months away and i wont be at target til next year haha so just concentrate on what you have achieved NOW. You've lost 10lbs in 4/5 weeks- THATS EXCELLENT!!
Keep checking in here everyday and set yourself mini targets. If you only have the END goal its bound to drag. I have set target for easter etc, maybe you could do the same? xx Good luck and stay positive! :)

I've learnt to not think about how long it will take me and only focus on my weekly weight loss. So long as I can keep on going, I'll get there eventually. Tell yourself every day that you're getting slimmer and healthier. Take it one day at a time.

totally agree with what the girls have said so far, take one week at a time and celebrate those losses as they go.. dont think about target till nearer the time!! ive still got 99lbs to go till target.. and im a very here and now person, i need everything done right now or i get bored and give up, ive done it before.. my husband hates it when i decide to decorate!! but by concentraiting on the weekly and my christening target i cant see the light at the end of the tunnel but i can definately see the candles on the way lol!

I agree with everything that's been said. Set youself some mini-targets for between now and July with rewards for when you achieve them. Choose whatever rewards appeal to you but not food related eg facial, manicure, new pair of shoes or whatever.

I agree with the others. You cant think too far ahead on the SW plan, just take one week at a time - a day even.
I'm down 5 stone and have anther 7 to go, but if I keep thinking that Im not going to reach my goal until later next year, I'd be ordering a take-away and grabbing another box of chocolates!!!
I just think about why I started to change my eating habits in the first place. I do have the occasional slip up, but then we all do. You just have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going.

:wave_cry:Thank you,il set my self a target of half a stone each month that way il be breaking down the time it will take and focus on ech month at atime. i think a little pampering ech time i reach a terget is the best ideas iv heard
