I had to take a 4 days break because of back/stomach pain and I was on Cruise phase.

I've already gain some weight... but I don't experience any pain anymore.
I really want to loose weight. I'm so tired of this body.
I started this weight gain when I moved in with my bf and that was about two years ago.

What should I do? I also suffer from constipation while I'm on the Dukan diet even though I do everything that are allowed to do to prevent that.

Do I have to do the Attack phase again or could I continue with my Cruise phase? I was thinking of only doing PV till I reach my goal weight. I know it will slow my weight loss but I really don't want to be constipated again.

I would just start cruise again, starting with a pp day.

The constipation is commoner in the early days of the diet - many people report that it improves later on as the digestive track adjusts to the change in diet

Jushne I've been having similar issues.

I'm having to go PV for the next 10 days due to a holiday, so I'm going to see how I feel after that.
I don't have too bad pain, but it worries me that it's not a good thing (obviously!) and I've also been feeling really tired lately.
I've got back into the gym with a vengeance, and I'm wondering if I'm actually losing any more weight on Dukan than I would be if I were just being careful and exercising this much anyway - but I'm scared to stop in case it all piles back on :-(

Would be good to hear how you go if you do stop or switch to PV.

Good luck and feel better (and keep up plenty of water)

Jushne, I agree with Atropos, but please post your menus, and be sure to drink plenty of water.

Good luck!

Hi Jushne,
If I could give you a bit of advice, as I too have suffered from constipation for over 20 years..........been to the doctors specialists all poking & prodding.......nothing, no answer, diddly swat!!!, but what I have found that works, is if you could do some sort of exersize, some thing to get every thing 'jiggling'about. I recent bought a pillates machine, which seems to be doing the trick. Why not try swimming, or an exercise cd at home.
I hope this helps:rolleyes:

I haven't been able to get back to the diet yet. I'm worried and I'm afraid that I would endanger my body if I start again. But I really want to loose weight, I feel like I failed myself...

I'm booked all weekends throughout August to the middle of September. Travels, dinner parties, birthdays and a lots of work related activities.
How can I successfully cooperate this diet with all the social activities?
I had to visit the bathroom all the time while I was on this diet because I drink a lot of water. So it's not very convenient...
How much slower would it be if I only go PV?

I'm thankful for all the advice you've given me. You are all so kind, caring and understanding.

I'm sorry if this seemed confusing. I'm very tired.

Have you seen your doctor? You could try doing 5 pv days and pv on mondays and thursdays. I read that in the book. You would lose a little more slowly but you would still lose.

Hello jushne, I had something similar to your case. When I first started the diet my stomach started hurting quite a bit, then after 3 days it passed. I suffer from constipation as well and after day number 2 it started.it too passed after 3 days. A trick my mother gave me was to drink 2 full glasses of water at room temperature first thing in the morning. You will see how it helps.
In regards to doing pv, the book says that if you don't have a lot of weight to lose that you can do 2/5. For example monday s and thursdays pp the rest pv. You should still lose weight. If not go ahead and do your pv only weeks, I'm sure you would still lose weight.

My advice mightn't be popular but with a BMI 25.5 I'd not touch this diet with a barge pole. You're not far from a "normal weight", whether you feel such weight suits you or not, which would indicate that you're not that far out with your current food intake.

Using some of the Dukan principles (leaner cuts of meat, avoid sugar, oil etc, stay away from biscuits/cakes/sweets/alcohol) should give you a weight loss. Increase exercise too.

That's my take on your situation :D
