Theres a 12 NHS course available in my area (notts) and i was invited to try it out. Were around 9 weeks in and ive found the info very informative and helpful. They also cover exercise and referals at the end of the 12 weeks.

has anyone else been or on such a programme, would be good to hear your thoughts and if anyone wants to know any info please ask.

basically its a 12 week course/class where by were shown different food values, what the labels mean, what things to look for, sizes of portions, how the body works, metabolism etc etc.
The idea is to do this course and lose a few lbs along the way and hopefully keep it going. Ive managed to lose a few lbs but not as many as theyde like but im in this for the long haul so im not after any miracle cures just yet.

I was so expecting a thread about recycling when i opened this :D

But anyway, some primary care trusts and health boards have developed their own slimming programmes such as this. In my area it is called Counterweight.
