First week of 810 and lost 7lb! Yaaay!

Bit daunted when I first tried this diet and eating so little did feel strange to begin with. But now I'm used to it and I feel confident I can stick to it. Been trying all the flavours of shake and soup and there's nothing that I haven't liked so far. I quite like the porridge too, so I'm having those for breakfast, soup for lunch and a shake for a mid-afternoon top-up.

After two years of trying WW, SW, Exante and Zoe Harcombe without any lasting success I've gone with Cambridge to ensure I can lose quickly. I can't spend all week counting points/avoiding carbs/etc to scrape a 1lb or 2 a week. It's all gotta go!

Hello. Saw the title for your diary and naturally had to leave a message! \m/ Garth is my hero.

Sounds like you're at the end of you tether like I was. CD has been great for me, I'm doing ss just now and finding the break from food is really helping me address foody related issues. Well done on your 7lbs loss so far! It's amazing how quick it can go on this diet! I'm sure you'll do great!

Minimins is a great place for support and inspiration, so you'll always find people who know exactly how you are feeling and can empathise. If you ever need to be motivated, I'd definitely take a look at the "Inspiration Slideshow" or any of the weight loss diaries on here. Sometimes it's so comforting and inspiring to see the success other people have had on this journey.

I'm glad you are enjoying the packs so far, it makes a massive difference when you have lots of things to choose from that you actually like. Once you are allowed the bars they are really nice!

Best of luck!

Good luck Giantrobot !

I like quick results too and lost nothing on a recent 12 week subscription to ww on line.

Thanks for the replies! I'm looking forward to trying the bars although I'm going to restrict them to just a few per week. I used to buy the WW low-point bars but a whole box was too tempting unfortunately :-(

Terrible day today, just found out that one of our dogs has cancer. I know he's an old boy at 10 (good for a boxer) but he's been my companion for such a long time I can't bear the thought of losing him. And I ended up eating a load of rubbish for lunch because I felt so stressed out. It's strictly soup for tea now but I'm going to have to be strong for the next few weeks while we try and get him sorted out.

Second weigh-in last night and have shed another 4lbs, making 11lbs in two weeks. Pleased with that considering I'm still managing to eat a meal each day. Also, I can finally try the bars! Only had the peanut crunch so far, tastes a bit unusual and very stodgy but not too bad.

As for our poor old pooch, we're taking him to a specialist next week to have some more tests and see if he can be operated on to remove the tumour. That's going to be a very stressful day but am determined not to get distracted from the plan.

So sorry to hear about your woof, I hope there is something the specialists can do for him! So sad when pets get ill. I have a lovely black rabbit, I've only had him a year but I know I would be just gutted if he got sick. My thoughts are with you and your doggy. x

On the lighter side very well done on your loses so far! Brilliant start, you must be very pleased.

Aww thanks, fortunately all is well at the moment. He had his op yesterday and had two tumours and some lymph glands removed. As of this morning he's recovering OK. It's been somewhat stressful over the last couple of days as the vet basically gave us all the worst case scenarios. Better to expect the worst I suppose, but we're glad he's now on the mend. Surprisingly, I did stick to the plan but I forget how many cups of tea I got through!

Weigh-in tonight so hopefully I've managed another loss.

Good luck with your weigh-in and well done for sticking to it with all you have been going through xx

Thank you Mishie, I was over the moon! x

2lb off for me this week. Not as much as I was expecting but I did drink a lot of water before my evening weigh in, doh! But I can feel the difference in my clothes so I know the weight is going. And 13lbs in three weeks is better than I did on any other plan!

whoop! well done.

13lb is almost a stone isnt it! So that surely deserves some kind of fanfare!

2 lb is still good:) I remember on my weight watchers days if I lost 2lb it was a miricle. Just think of it as a further step in the right direction :) Congreatulations
