What are we eating today?

Just had a very good non-Atkins-like Atkins friendly breakfast!

Activia natural yoghurt (125g pot), chopped almonds and cinnamon!

8.35 grams of carbs.

Hi James - i've been trying to keep below 6g of carbs at any one time - read somewhere that more than that (an hour) can spike your insulin. Any views or notice any effect?

I haven't noticed any effect and i've regularly had more than 6g as i've lost weight. I've had up to 12g in one sitting. I would like to go 0 carb though to be honest after reading more of Gary Taubes' research. I could happily go 0 carb on a diet based around meat, cheese and eggs. I know people wouldn't like it, but the evidence that it's the healthiest diet is stacking up...

Lol, will you be having mayo with that?

I did indeed!

Peppers, red onion, mushrooms and bacon bits, it was nice but 10 chilli's was too much, my mouth has gone numb

Yoweeeeeeeeeee Jim, that is excessive - put the loo roll in the fridge :D

One of the weirdest things on hol was the amount of GARLIC they put scrambled egg - bleurrrrrrrg - I like garlic but this was huge lumps and did it no favours at all.

Yum, definately going to try that burger with my fresh first batch of oopsie rolls!

For dinner i'm having roast pork with plenty of crackling, mashed cauli with butter and cream and freshly cracked black pepper and some broccoli. Just don't know what to do about the gravy :( best 'diet' ever! :D

tonight i had bacon, cheese, mushroom, tomato, courgette, spring onion and spinach fritatta with green leaves on the side and a dollop of garlic mayo....yum :) looking forward to my pork crackles later! x
