When I am tempted to buy chocolate in the supermarket I now buy myself a scratch card instead ( well chocolate is almost £1 a bar now anyway) seems to work too as I have been rewarded with winning, not more than £10 but still would rather gain in £'s than lbs!!! It also keeps me on track. My motivation to start was seeing myself in photos, I usually avoid the camera at all costs but recently got an award at work and had to have my photo taken and then was my sister's bridesmaid the same week and couldn't avoid camera's completely then either
 
My motivation currently is we have house guests arriving in 6 weeks and they have not seen me for 19 months and I was at goal when they last saw me so am determined to shift as much as possible before then. Am only on week 2 so not rewarded myself yet. As these VLCD cost a fair amount of money it helps me stay on track. I do weigh myself daily, I know that is not good but seeing the scales going down gives me a real boost and encouragement.
