What is it with cheese?

Trying very hard!
I have read you should stick under 4oz of cheese a day to prevent stalling, I just wondered if that is for all cheese types or if it is just hard cheese?

Does anyone know what it is about cheese that makes people stall?

Cheese is a two pronged affair - some people are sensitive to the lactose in it - which is a type of sugar. But I think the main reason for restricting it is that it has a very high calorie content in comparison to the same weight of meat. While calories are less of an issue on atkins, it is possible to go overboard, especially on foods like cheese and nuts.

All cheese - soft cheese tends to have more carbs
