What is LC? and.. net carbs?

I was talking to my friend about Atkins and how easy I am finding it, my cravings have gone and i'm no longer ever hungry!..I was always hungry before...

Anyway she said she is following the LC diet and it is similar to Atkins... I have also seen many people mention doing LC on here - is it just a general Low carb diet? or is it somthing you can actually follow, like Atkins etc?

Also, as I understand it, in England we don't need to worry about 'net carbs' as it's already been deducted on the label, however in other places, you have to deduct it yourself. So the Atkins bars, say so many 'net carbs', but if they are selling them in England, do we have to add some carbs on? as if they have already been deducted by our labelling system, and then deducted again as it was already deducted in another country?

Ooo that sounds confusing, I don't know how else to explain that :p

Lc is just low carb, and where it states net carbs use that figure other than that use normal carbs :)
