    Changes like the wind!
My first 2 weeks back at class I have done really well, 4 pounds the first week and 3 pounds the second.
This week I haven't stopped eating - hot cross buns, custard creams, chocolate coins pretty much anything I could get my hands on.
Why? Just why? I don't want to eat it so why have I?
I'm still dragging my sorry a** to weigh in tomorrow but I know it's going to be bad.
I'm hoping to draw a line under it and just get on but I really want to understand why exactly I'm doing this to myself?

    Argh! Help!!

It's weird how we do this to ourselves, i have done that in the past many times. Back of my mind i kept saying.."its okay, i had a good weigh in so why not" then open a packet of biccy's or something. Then it turns into something else, then something else..then by the end of it all the weeks passed and its weigh in time. Then i think..god what have i gone and done to myself. Then panic mode sets in for me.

Perhaps speak to your leader tomorrow evening and ask to fill out a SAS log. I have also done this in the past and its quite interesting in a reflective way.

Good luck, and well done for making the decision to go and get yourself weighed..ive often made an excuse up and not go and hide..then it starts again into another bad week.

    xx

Well done for saying that you're still going to WI tomorrow! Maybe that will give you the kick-start you need!

Yeah I hope so. I'm trying to sort out a shopping list of good things to try and help me forget about my beige sugary carb obsession!
I wonder if part of it is having a lack of quick and easy snacks. My main munching moments seem to be when I get in from work and when I'm cooking tea.
It's finding something 'satisfying' because sorry carrot sticks and apples, satisfying you are not!!

I find that bit the hardest too, its so easy to nibble on things I shouldn't when I get in from work. Am worse when I get in before boyfriend, I snaffle a plate of cheese and crackers then eat my tea as normal without letting on!! Sometimes not even hungry, its definitely all in my head. X

What are you using your syns on during an average day? You might find that using them on some the things you crave helps to keep the binge at bay.

I've found this time round that having a little bit of what I want each day has really helped to stop me wanting to binge. I've gone from someone who could chuck back a tonne of chocolate after weigh in, to someone who just doesn't crave it as much if I have a couple of quality street or a kit kat or something- Something I never thought was possible!! Same has happened with bread and crisps (my weaknesses!)

Hun sometimes when we do something good we reward ourselves, so in my case I used to reward my weight loss with food which is not the best thing. Sometimes it doesn't matter if were low or feel good we have probably all had years of food being linked to emotions and that's where self sabotage comes in. Self sabotage can be linked with self esteem though aswell so a person doesn't feel worthy of good things that happen to them so they sabotage themselves. Not saying that is you, but it might be a good idea that if you feel like your on a slippery slope chose something else to do clean a drawer or cupboard out, paint your nails, wash your hair. distraction techniques can sometimes save the day good luck xx

Syns wise is usually a hi-fi bar in the evening the rest usually go on sauce/gravy with tea.

I'm trying hard to follow the EE plan whereas I've always done red but still can't bring myself to snack on green foods. The idea of a mugshot as a snack scares the bejazers out of me...yet a load of ham doesn't phase me at all.
Might be time to sort out the fridge and make up some fruit salad.

how about as a reward to yourself instead of food, you put the equivalent you've lost in lbs into a jar / bottle in £'s instead? ( or £2 / lb or whatever to make it more appealing as a reward. )
then when you get so much you can go get a new dress or whatever..

Have you got any stressy stuff going on in your life where you could be emotionally eating, I know 100% that I am an emotional eater, so sometimes my binge eating is linked to that, and sometimes I am not even aware that something is bothering me until I recognise that I am stuffing my face!

I think you have your answer right there. If you don't like EE then don't do it. Stick to red if you find it easier. When we're feeling deprived is when we're likely to go off plan.

Red gives me the best results but I find it dull. I was getting fed up of having to eat mashed swede instead of pasta/potatoes etc.
I want to do EE, it sounds lush I'm just not sure if my body is too fond of eating carbs!

Putting money aside is a great idea. Maybe a bit late to properly start for me now....Ive lost the main chunk of what I need to...this last bit (not that 1.5-2 stone is only a bit mind you) is taking forever! Have promised myself I'll get some new things when I get to target. I don't lack motivation to get there I just seem to be really bad at keeping the house stocked with nice SW friendly food!

Are you eating enough at lunchtime? I found that when I upped the amount I ate and stopped having just salads, unless they had rice/pasta/baked potato with them I was far less likely to nibble while making tea. If I was then I'd attack the beetroot!

    I hate this.
I stayed on track for my birthday... and managed to lose half a pound.. since then I have done nothing but eat.

It's absolutely rubbish and I'm hating myself.

    Feel better soon, hun. x

It depends- what does eating all those things mean to you? Is it a reward? Or is it the product of resentment i.e. why should I not be able to eat this like everyone else?

When I sabotage myself I always think about what it means to me, write it and then plan what to do in order not to do it again, or let it spiral out of control.

Maybe it is that you feel that you have not been treating yourself enough, and now feel that you need a reward for being 'good', so instead of doing that you could give yourself small treats, so you don't feel deprived, or maybe swap a food treat with something else, like getting a movie?

If it is because you are missing something because of one plan- try alternating plans?

Remember as well that one of the great advantage of dieting is that you get to break the habit of always having the same thing- and get to explore heaps of new food- because food is a bit like sex, people do end up getting into a routine if they don't watch themselves- and that's why people get bored and then do things they should not do, treat themselves with high food or if keeping the sex analogy have sex with people they shouldn't lol

Sorry about the sex thing could not think of anything better to describe it
