Hiya all.
I am not going to comment on anybody's reason for changing to an alternative plan. For me CD is the way to go, For me it's cheaper but then I have gone from eating 3/4 takeaways a week, plus 100% processed food.
But this is only right for me, my reasons for my journey! we all have to decide whats right for us!!!
As for the science behind hormonal problems, whilst I am way to rusty on the science thing to give 100% advice, what I will say is that one of the functions of a fat cell is to produce Oestrogen...
Therefore on this diet especially SS when fat cells are diminishing very quickly, it makes absolute sense that a lot of us ladies struggle with sometimes horrendous hormonal problems!
The thing is, is the speed with which our bodies are changing...
So for instance... If someone is losing 1-2 lb a week not all of which will be fat on another diet and if someone is losing 5lb of fat on CD, it makes perfect sense that their will be more disturbance in the latter body.
Now for most of us, we might not be that sensitive to these hormonal fluctuations and will be able to cope with our more severe PMT, but for some people especially those who have reacted previously to hormonal fluctuations for instance post pregnancy, it might not be as easy as just gettign through it....
Hormonal depression is extremely debilitating.
I think this forum is a such a wonderful place to share our difficulties... and I know how easy it is for a post to be taken the wrong way... so lets just carry on with supporting each other..
xx

What's good for some ain't good for another!
Well, of course it looks harsh if you take out the bulk of the post, and just leave the beginning and the end!TBH I find this post a bit harsh
We all have different reasons for following which ever journey or plan and comments like this may make some people feel :sigh:
I am following ss+ and have about 14lb to lose to goal and am really thinking hard about what I will be doing, because once food is re-introduced then YES cost will become an issue, my food bill is already high, then cd on top, then food for this
Emotional I am stable in myself which I know is a huge help, but please please think about how your comments have come across, normally I justthese types of posts but today it got me.
I know everyones finances are different but I don't understand why people might find this diet expensive.
In my house there's me DH and DD. DH will eat mostly anything and DD is a vegie. Since I have started this diet my weekly food shop has come down by half maybe even 3/4 some weeks. And the alcohol has dropped to about £10 a week, obviously for DH, not me.
before CD you could say that our weekly food shop could be £100 a week containing alcohol. on top of that I probably would have spend another £20 on alcohol and I would have been out on friday nights too spending about £50. So thats £170 a week I would have spent on nurturing my fat.
Now I spend about £40 on the weekly shop and then £40 on CD. = £80 Saving me about £90 a week.
I must confess that sometimes the weekly shop does go over on occasions especially when toiletries and cleaning materials are needed.
So for me it is actually better for my finances.
that was initialy my reasoning, however in my house i still spend the same on food, for my BF but yes half of it does go in the bin (this annoys me ). ((but etter in the bin than in my tummy)).
but in a way he still cooks for two. and then bins one meal.
because his plate is too full.
so weekly shop same price, plus cost of cd.
