Why is quitting from smoking so tough?

    Why is it hard to quit smoking, are cigarette sort of drugs? And can anyone tell me why smoking is considered cool

    The amount of chemicals within a cigarette are staggering, however the addictive quality within them is Nicotine which is a drug of sorts. We also get addicted to the social aspect of smoking within a group, the action of taking a drag, and even the act being a boredom reliever.
    It being considered cool usually stems from OLD media portrayals, in old movies/adverts - 1980's and before. ... also school children who sneak a fag out they're doing something 'daring' and 'dangerous' so... there's another reason why.

    However - smoking makes you smell bad, makes your breath stink, let alone all the health issues that are associated with it. It's not too hard to quit smoking if the person really wants to.
