If its any consilation, it gets easier as the weeks go on

For the first few weeks all i could think about was scrambled eggs on toast even though i never normally ate that lol but now i dont have those demons anymore ..

It helps once you start to see big loses and changes in your body shape,,up until that time...it can be hard

Hang in there xxx

the one thing i would say is that there is no crime in THINKING about eating hun! you can think about it as much as you like, as long as it doesnt lead to anything then its harmless! :D
I do menu plans for higher plans, i fiddle with recipes a LOT, i am constantly messing about and thinking about food....but i still dont eat the food i'm thinking about!
my goodness, i'd be the size of a house if i did! lol
Just stick with it hun, and it WILL get better!!!!!
Honestly! :D

I know exactly where your coming from. For my first 3-4 weeks i could smell jam butties and cheese and onion chrisps. even in the car on my own. Now i knit or crochet. My CDC told my she used to watch the food channels (food porn) and cook for everyone else. you will at some point find what works for you. good luck xoxox

I found weeks two and three really really hard. Stick at it. You have to think about your long term goal. I have struggled the past few weeks and usually would have given up by now but you have to think, even if you haven't stuck to it 100% you are still doing better than you would on any other diet and so it might take a bit longer, but you will still get there in the end!

I get naughty thoughts about food popping into my head quite frequently. For some reason I can almost taste in my mouth food that I was given as a child, which I wouldn't really particularly seek out if I wasn't on a diet (we used to have steak, chips and grilled tomatoes on a Saturday evening, which I had forgotten about until I started VCLD's)
Maybe its a comfort thing, or my mind playing funny tricks.
It is best to focus on the positives, new image, more confidence, getting more out of life, improved health ...hopefully such great rewards will help expel the thoughts of food (which can be enjoyed in moderation as part of balanced eating once CD journey completed)

Your brain is just doing what it probably has for years. I was a big binge eater, the more i thought of dieting the more i ate! This is the biggest part of this diet for me, and changing my response to the thoughts of food, (which i hope will lesson as i gain more control over my food choices), is what i hope will make this different to any other previous diet. Don't get me wrong, i struggle to be good, but i know its a struggle i have to 'win' eventually, else nothing will ever change, and i'll be a fat blimp forever. I try to see that i am making a concsious decision to not have something unhealthy, not as a deprivation. Ooooeerr, deep introspective moment there....sorry for waffling. xx

Thanks girls....I have a feeling i may put on this week i have nibbled so much but i think if i do that will give me the kick up the bum i need, although i would love to lose but maybe a gain is what i need if that makes sense lol!!! xxx

Don't kick yourself if you gain - just get back to 100%.
When I look at food I really want, I think of how much happier I am going to be when I am slim.

Hah, scrambled egg was something I was fixated with recently. But then I had some on holiday when I had a cooked breakfast  and the urge went away.

Stick an older 'fatter' photo on the fridge, simple but seems to work for me, then again only really started diet/gym recently.
(Just browsing the posts for inspiration, just about to start the Lighterlife programme, end of month.)

i dream of toast i crave this all the time
its not hunger it is shear craving and wanting to taste it
all i cna say is keep busy and when the urge is there go clean your teeth or have a long soak in the bath
i have put my fat pics on my mobile now so if i am out and feel like eating i look on my phone
good luck you`ll get there

How have you done today? How about thinking of something else to reward yourself with for sticking to a whole week. Something little like new earrings or a trip out to the countryside with a pretty view.... anything that will amuse you.
