Wolf Hall wins Booker Prize

I won't be trying it. I like CJ Sansom's books but I read a Hilary Mantel a while ago (Beyond Black?) and hated it, won't be reading any more Mantels.

Oh er, I've not started it yet, was goign to save it for winter. Think I might send it back! ;)

I'm not a big fan of Booker winners overall, though I've liked a few. For me, the winner of the Orange Prize is usually a more reliable bet.

Anyway, Skua, everyone's different, you might like it.

To be honest, I'm a sucker for historical fiction so I'll get somethign out of it, even if I dont enjoy it, which I think I will, as I find Thomas Cromwell fascinating.

You might find William Cecil interesting too in that case. Also a man who rose through from lower status to immense power under the Tudors (in his case, Elizabeth) and played a very dangerous game at time. Similarities to Cromwell there and very interesting.
