yellow cornmeal...help!!

Hiya,

I've found a recipie for bacon & chive cornbread & want to try it out.

it uses 170g of yellow cornmeal, can someone look this up for me please?

I don't knwo if I'll be able to buy it yet!!!

Hi,

yellow cornmeal is what we call Polenta (the dried grain as opposed to the solid precooked stuff).

Just looked in the book and it's 5 syns per 28g (dry weight).

Hi,

Checked SW online but no luck, seems to be more of a speciality product. I googled it and found no major supermarkets selling it, it seems to be a health supplies product. You could do with finding the nutritional info and then try and find out. Sorry not much help.
 
I bought mine (Pre SW) at Asda in the 'ethnic foods' section. Was really cheap for a huge bag.
 
Thank-you, seems really high syns so I don't think I'll bother mking it.

I do have polenta in the cupboard!!! if only I'd known it was the same stuff!!
