Things that annoy me about being big - how about you?

I thought of something else!! I hate the sanctimonious health care 'professionals' who repeatedly tell you than any and every ailment you present with is because you're overweight. Then, in a final smack in the face they tell you that they can't do very much to help you unlerss you're a normal...

Does egg give any one else a tummy ache

I am going to completely cut them out for a week and see how I feel though I am almost certain I have the helicobacter bacteria, we shall see!! It is awful :-(

    Great technique for sustainability!!

I think everyone is different, for example one of my friends has appalling losses if he touches much fruit whereas it doesn't affect me much. Some people do well on carbs, others don't. I guess it is horses for courses, for me this works well not in terms of the losses but in terms of it being...

Does egg give any one else a tummy ache

Your symptoms sound just like I would expect with the Helicobacter bacteria. I was in agony last night, so I sympathise with you totally. Now the thing is if you want the helicobacter bllod test you have to not touch antacids (pepto bismil, Rennie etc) or antibiotics for fourteen days before...

Does egg give any one else a tummy ache

Awwwwwwwwww well here's a few things that may help! Peppermint oil is available as a tablet (Colpermin) from Boots/Superdrug etc off the shelf BUT they're expensive so get them on prescription like I do! Or buy Holland and Barret's ENTERIC COATED PEPPERMINT OIL CAPSULES, but they MUST be the...

    Great technique for sustainability!!

Another VERY nteresting thing we've all noticed is if we weigh the day after a red we put on!! If we wait until a day after a green we lose really well! So I only ver weigh after a green day as I don't go to a class.

    Great technique for sustainability!!

All three of us are doing fantastically well on it, next week's weigh in will be a little more telling as it will be a month in so more 'settled'. I love it, I honestly feel for the first time ever that I am going to be able to manage it long term! If I am missing meat on a green day I only...

    Planes

I flew to America at size 26! Easy Jet are very generous with seatbelts, Thomson are dreadful! Just ask for an extension, and don't go for extra leg room seats as they're smaller! Have a fab time!

What's everyone reading at the moment?

Has anyone ever read The Big Sone Gap series by Adriana Trigiani? Really lovely, sentimental tales!! Love them. Also good is Julian Barnes' "Arthur & George"!

Does egg give any one else a tummy ache

Eggs affect me terribly! Give me unbearable stomach gripe type pain! They don't constipate me but they do a lot of people. I have about two eggs a week on SW! Try some peppermint oil - sprinly three little drops in acup of warm water, add a little sweetner and sip slowly three times a day...

Things that annoy me about being big - how about you?

The saddest thing for me is that given the choice I would swim every day, I love it. But I just won't go now. At one point I used to hire the entire pool all for myself lol, it cost £40 for an hour hah how mad was that?!!
  15. T

    Great technique for sustainability!!

emma-louise what has your average weekly loss been doing it your way, mixing the two plans? x I admit I actually used to lose more on all reds but impossible to stick to long term.

    Great technique for sustainability!!

I didn't think for a second it would work but there are four of us doing it - a bloke (he started at 15.5 stone, woman was 13stone, other one was 16 stone then me) and we have all lost pretty much a stone doing it this way. I am going to play about with it a bit, like maybe doing 2 red, two...

Things that annoy me about being big - how about you?

People's attitudes annoy me far more than being fat actually does! I sit on a bus, and I guarantee I will be the LAST PERSON that anyone will sit next to - I don't know if they think I am going to eat them. In fact I have noticed people would rather sit next to a tramp or a smack head than a...

Whats your new SW food discovery??

he Activia fat free yoghurts are quite a bit (about a third) higher in sugar than Muller Lights, that said they are nicer. The WW toffee apple/desserts yoghurts are divine! Another thing I do is add two Muller Lights to a jelly which makes a mousse. Put one pack of Hartley's sugar free...

    Facial hair

Most primary care trusts will fund six laser hair removal sessions for people with PCOS, you'll have to be persistent as they really don't like to fund it but they will if you're tenacious enough. Check with your local PALS (Patient Advisory Liaison Service) - ask whether your PCT funds laser...

    Great technique for sustainability!!

Hi everyone. I have done SW on and off for many years and have always stuck primarily to 'red' days - I have seen great results very quickly doing this but have always inevitably gone off track as I missed carbs. I can't get my head round EE so have never tried that but I just wanted to share...

Red Day POT ROAST OF BEEF - (Slow Cooker Recipe)

When I cook beef in the slow cooker I marinade the meat for a couple of hours in beer and onions, a good proper brown ale really adds to the flavour and actually I add a little to the pot as well and syn it. Perhaps three tablespoons. :0) ooo and garlic!!

    Tomato and Basil Risotto

There is a recipe on the SW site somewhere for beetroot risotto - it is REALLY flavoursome! I whack a tiny bit of white wine in mine also, only about three tablespoons!

Thank you SO much to all who've offered some positivity!! Thanks - it is lovely to have people to pick you up when you're down :)...

    I Get Married Tomorrow :0(

My other half says I need a bit of positive thinking :D I have waited patiently for three years for him to think it was a good idea and I know I am sounding really silly being so negative. I am more bothered that people coming will think it is crap - and I was so upset that my Mum thought a...

    I Get Married Tomorrow :0(

I am doing a crappy register office (though admittedly I woulodn't want to marry in a church anyway) and we have ten guests as people are poorly, on holiday etc etc. And no matter how hard I have tried my outfit looks CRAP too! I don't earn an awful lot after a huge career change so the whole...

Joining SW from Cambridge diet ... scared

I did precisely this after losing five stone - the glycogen I lost (first 9lb) went back on me within a week so don't be too dieheartened if this happens. I think after CD (did you SS?) you should perhaps stick to the original plan as it is so low on carbs - carbs after CD do not go well...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

I don't drive and have a VERY active job so the exercise bit has always been quite often for me but perhaps I need to now up the ante? Problem I have is sciatica and plantar fasciitis and not being brave enough to go to the public swimming baths!! Ibuprofen affects me really badly as does...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

I think the fact that you have persevered for four years is amazing and makes the loss so much more incredible. PCOS is awful - beards, no periods, no kids and harder to lose weight! Grrrrrr! Do you / have you taken metformin to help?

  37. T

    Aversion To Carbs But...

Well judging by your weight loss you're obviously doing something very right so I'm quite convinced that a couple of green days a week won't harm my weekly losses! I shall have to take Colpermin on those days to sort out the bloating
  38. T

    Helps!

On a budget try some syn free egg custard - it is so comforting! I use a big 500g tub of Morrison's Eat Smart fromage frais (85p), mix it with four eggs, three tablespoons of syn free sweetner, a bit of vanilla essence and then whack it in a bowl and whisk for Britain! Pop it in little...

What a FAB idea! That is £10 going in a jar! Excellent :D I have told my boyfriend he can put a £1 in also as he moans about me being fat LOL!

    Helps!

I have found the catalyst for giving in with me is repetitive menus - same things day in, day out will inevitably drive you to despair. Look on here for new recipes - tonight I am trying chicken tikka curry made with fromage frais (it may be crap!) and roulade. I believe the key to this diet...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

Once I spent five months not touching ANY carbs whatsoever - I lost five stone (fab!) but I have never been so ill in my life. I actually ended up in hospital and was told my bowel had stopped working because I hadn't been taking in carbs. The second I cut them out totally I get ill so SW is...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

I adore couscous but I tend to have the Ainsley HArriot flavoured ones and haven't checked if they're free or not? They're like garlic mushroom or mediterrenean vegetable type things?

    Aversion To Carbs But...

Lactulose is like liquid gold - incredible stuff but you do need to take it daily no matter what! However it gives me HORRIFIC stomach gripes so I much prefer Movicol - now that stuff IS bleedin' brilliant and no side effects whatsoever :) (unless you take too much )

    Aversion To Carbs But...

I've had great results in the past with Aloe Vera juice! The best 'diet' ever was an anti-Candida one - amazing results BUT sooooooo strict!!! Mine is more a feeling of constipationtrapped wind than ACTUAL constipation - I thought it was associated with endometriosis but it seems not. Carbs...

    messed up royally

I had three bread rolls and a third of a toffee cheesecake so don't worry about it :D I think the important factor is that you've quickly recognised it wasn't the wisest thing to do and hopefully now (like me) you can just snap your fingers and get back on track. I eat through sheer boredom and...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

Thanks everyone! I can't explain it properly but I just don't get on with crabs at all though these tend to be more starchy carbs as opposed to 'natural fruit sugar' ones (if that makes any sense at all!). What I can't fathom is this - if I have six red days and one green will that affect my...

    Aversion To Carbs But...

I appreciate this has very probably been discussed to near death but I'm having problems coming to a reasonable decision! Vaniqa?

I have found the PCT guidelines which say that where I live, six sessions of laser hair removal are to be made available to PCOS sufferers so I will give it my best shot :0) Were you shaving every day prior to your treatments and how many treatments have you had to get to that point? That is...

    Vaniqa?

I got a prescription for it yesterday without any problems, did your GP give any indication fo when it will not be available as my GP hasn't ever mentioned it being withdrawn? I have had AMAZING results with it.
