    CD Newbie diary

Good luck with the maintaining, just keep reminding yourself what you used to look like if you want some inspiration to keep going. Also, don't stop weighing yourself, that way you won't start sliding without knowing it. The best thing for me, apart from having so much more energy, is the...

How Far Are You From Goal?

It's very strange when the time arrives. Well done.
  5. T

    Before and after

Well, I've done it. 160 lbs, 32" trousers, below 25 BMI and running twice a week in addition to other fitness stuff. All inside 12 months and I'm now able to eat well and have stuff I didn't think would be possible on a sustainable diet. I ran 5 miles the other night with a target of running...
  6. T

    Before and after

I'm now 11st 8lbs and have been below 75kg for 6 weeks. My current target is 11st 6lbs (160 lbs) and to hold at or below 75kg for 3 months. Ideally I would like to get below the psychological barrier of 25 BMI (73 kg, 160lbs) and stay there for a while, if not indefinitely! I have upped the...

    Before and after

Latest picture I've been static at just under 12 stones now for 2 months. That includes Christmas and a work trip to the USA, so I'm pleased, even though ideally I want to be about 11 and a half.
  9. T

    Before and after

Just had 3 weeks off the plan for Christmas - only put on 2lbs so that's good enough considering how much I ate and drank. Looks like I'm slowing down anyway so BMI of 25 may be tricky but to be honest if I stayed where I am now I'd be happy. Briefly cracked the 12 stone barrier but am now...

Do you ever have a diet day off?

I've just had 3 weeks off. Put on 2 lbs but I've enjoyed myself. Now the work starts - just the last 5 or 6 lbs now.
  11. T

How Far Are You From Goal?

Not much left now, about 5-6 lbs. I never thought I'd get anywhere near this to be honest. As light as I've been for 20 years. I've already started adjusting my food intake upwards so I'm slowing down the rate of loss, but my exercise is going up as well.

    Before and after

Went shopping today and fitted into some really nice 34" trousers. That's from bursting out of 40" 5 months ago. Also a medium casual shirt and an inch off the shirt collar for some formal shirts for work. I actually enjoyed shopping for clothes - never thought I'd see that day. I could...

Lynn's Diary - My Big Fat Weight Loss Journey

I bought a suit for a wedding in July and that's a gonner now. Only wore it once! I'm doing the full wardrobe trawl this weekend. Might find some nice stuff that fits me again but i will lose the suit and two jackets. Don't worry about the 2lbs, the same thing happened to me last week for no...

    Hello,I need your help!

The maths suggests you should be losing a little more than that but the key thing is that you are losing weight. Our bodies aren't a simple energy in - energy out calculation because of metabolic and other changes that happen cyclicly and daily. It could be that you're working out too much or...

    My photos so far :)

Just healthy eating, 3 meals a day with no snacks plus 20-30 minutes a day on Wii fit. I've even been able to go out for meals and have the occasional pudding. It took about 15 years to put it on and 5 months to take it off. Considering what I was eating (quantity and type of food) I'm...

3 stone lost, more to come

The doc recommended that after the 2 weeks when I have to do it 4 times a day that I carry on doing it occasionally as part of avoiding future problems with polyps and sinusitis. I have a spray as well but often the natural way works just as wwll.
  40. T

3 stone lost, more to come

Not really, actually within 2-3 days it was less tender than it had been before the op. The polyps and resulting sinusitis meant that my nose was permantenly swollen and even wearing glasses was painful. You just get a bit of post-op bleeding which means exercise is limited. The worst bit is...

3 stone lost, more to come

Back from the op - it went well and even though I haven't been able to exercise much I've still lost weight. More importantly even though I've been sitting around at home I haven't been tempted to snack between meals (easy to avoid at work). I've just broken the 13 stone barrier which I really...

Two and a half stone lost!

I find if my weight flattens out that a large meal does the trick - I go up the next day but then start dropping again when I return to the regular intake. Last week my wife ate exactly what I did (slightly less in quantity too), did loads of exercise I didn't do and I lost weight and she...

Went clothes shopping for the first time in ages

I found a pair of shorts in the wardrobe that I bought when I burst out of previous ones at the end of last summer. I probably wore them twice. They now fall down on their own and I'm too small for the ones I didn't fit into! Shorts shopping required next spring! What should I do with the...

Went clothes shopping for the first time in ages

I'm a man who hates clothes shopping and even I enjoyed trying stuff on that had some kind of fit to it rather than just buying baggy stretchy stuff to hide my increasing weight. I'm currently fitting into old clothes that I kept in the wardrobe more in hope than expectation and am keeping to...

    Hello all!

I was diagnosed with mild fibromyalgia and I know how it feels. I can't exercise really hard as it can bring the symtoms on and as you know it makes you feel pretty bad. I have therefore focused on the eating intake with light exercise and it's working well. I've used the Wii Fit as the basis...

Hi fellow slimmers! some help with Zizzi please!

I used to eat so much fat and sugar that I didn't notice when a dish I was served in a restaurant was cooked with a lot of butter/cream etc. Since cutting back I can tell when tasting it, but by then it's a bit late. I was in France recently on business and we went for a meal with our French...

Hi fellow slimmers! some help with Zizzi please!

The menu is on the website so you can get a good idea of what you might have before you go. The portion sizes are quite generous if you have to take that into account. The specials board is always a distraction though!!

Hi fellow slimmers! some help with Zizzi please!

We went to Zizzis and I'm afraid I went right off the rails with 2 pasta dishes and some very nice bruschetta. My wife did have a nice chicken dish (pollo con pesto) with vegetables which in retrospect I should have had instead!

    Hi all...

40 lbs is the same as me so far and I started 18 weeks ago. Losing about 1% of your weight per week is spot on, well done! I have the same fears about when to stop and how to maintain a stable comfortable weight. The forum helps a lot. Good luck!

3 stone lost, more to come

4 months ago I had to go to the hospital for a consultation on a nasal problem. The consultant told me that I needed an operation but I was overweight and should lose some to make the operation safer and potentially only one operation instead of two. I got on the scales and was horrified at what...

    Binge Eating

Not having the bad food in the house helps. It obviously can't stop you if you're determined to get something bad to eat, but at least buys you time to think through why you might want to binge. I usually try to drink water as a first standby, or eat a piece of fruit if that fails. Finding...

Do you ever have a diet day off?

I only have a day off for something special and even then it is normally just one meal. For example I went to a wedding and ate and drank like there was no tomorrow. I knew it would take a few days to recover (I put on 3lbs and it took a week) but we had a great time and I don't think I could...

    Lasagne?

I just have regular lasagne as an occasional treat. I use very lean meat and eat about half the portion size that i used to. Padding the meat with beans is a good idea if you like beans.
  70. T

Where do you notice weight loss first?

This is the first time I've ever lost weight. It went on in the order front/stomach sides arms neck more stomach legs more stomach + moobs face It's coming off in roughly the same order (backwards). The oddest thing was feeling a bone and thinking I had a strange lump forming.
  71. T

    totally fed up

I've actually cut out the crisps and chocolate altogether. I think it's easier for me that way. I can see where you're coming from. The thought of going without the occasional Chinese or Indian or glass or two of wine would make my program harder to manage.
  72. T

Weight Watchers really does work, scientists claim

I've done my weight loss without WW or SW so it's hard to comment but they obviously do work in a lot of cases. However is the fact that you've paid to do it part of the motivation to stick to the program?

  74. T

    Hello

I've been on a change of lifestyle / weight reduction regime for 3 and a half months and I'm finding it a lot easier than I thought. I had gradually let my weight go up and up until, my BMI was over 35 and the doctor wasn't happy about doing a non-urgent op until I'd lost a bit. That was my...
