Run today was ok. 46secs slower than last weeks 8miler.

I've come to the conclusion, I run better and feel better on long runs if i've had red meat & potatoes the day before. I hardly eat red meat anyways so from next week i'm going to have one day a week, the day before my long run (so tuesdays) and make that a day for red meat.

Todays run was lush. Ran around Burrator and Grandma came with and took her dog. She set off the other way and I told her i'd be back at the car in 45mins so i'll meet her back there. Pleased with my time too. Was pretty hot up there, think it's time to start running with water again!

Went and saw one of my best friends, and my longest friend run her first race today. She did the sport relief mile but chose to enter in for 6miles.

She did it in under an hour (quicker than me! :(/:)) and i'm super duper proud of her!

I missed body pump this morning cuz I went to see her run but I ran afterwards.
I ran over in saltram and ran that evil, evil hill that's in the Plymouth half and today, I RAN THE WHOLE HILL! i've waited almost a year to be able to run the entire hill without a stop or two and today I finally did it. All be it looked like a loony talking to myself and telling myself "it's only a hill" but i'm so chuffed to have finally cracked it. I did sit down for about a minute at the top but then got right back into running back.

That's fantastic running the whole hill chick well done you!

Check you're friend out too well done x

Well done on getting through a tough run. Your hard work is really paying off. Running is second nature to you now.

Well done Tanya, I bet you are so chuffed you ran all the way up that hill. Fantastic, a real achievement for you.

Yeah, I was so chuffed I finally ran it all. I was slow but I made it without a walk stop and thats all that matters. I have 10weeks now before the half and now that my long runs are really picking up mileage i'm going to plan out a different route that incorporates a hill so that I can get used to a hill part way through a long run instead of only a mile in iykwim.

I went and had a medical today as part of a study with the police. They took loads of blood samples, I had an ecg, bmi etc was done and they done a body fat % test. I was 35% body fat. Not too pleased with that so thats another thing to try and work on :sigh:

Off to spin class this evening. Was up early so todays calories will no doubt go above 1,600 :(

Spin class was tough. The guy taking the class hadnt done much all day so asked us if any one needed to shoot off and cuz only 1person said yes he decided to roll the class on an extra 10mins. My knee is killing me and my thighs will probably hate me tomorrow but I feel good :)

Very shapely and lean in your new shorts and top. All that training is paying dividends for you!!
You look so nice and summery.

You look fabulous, where are they from?x x

Well done with your running! I'm hoping I can build up again too. I'm still on TFR at the moment but I've managed just two short runs (2km) in the last week. I don't have the energy for much more right now but I need to work on the old lungs a little anyway! Keep posting your stories here because it gives others of us the inspiration we need to get back on track.

Thanks IM :)

Matalan hun, the top is too. Shorts were £10 and the top £4. So a whole outfit for £14 ;)

Thankyou. I'd probably be inclined to leave running whilst on tfr but if you feel up to it thats great :)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Todays run was a bit pants. I knew it was hot out so I made sure to remember to fill my water bottle as I havent taken that on a run for months now but I only went and left it at home! I got out the front door, locked it (didnt take my key as mum would be home before me) and then realised it was inside! :( I struggled big time. From about mile 4 the thirst was horrendous. Come mile 8 it was almost unbearable. I stopped at 8.66miles and walked the rest of the way home. It should have been a 9miler today but I just physically couldnt run anymore. I had far too many walking breaks too today. I'm not pleased with it but know that a 'bad' run had to happen sooner or later. Onwards and upwards.

I have 4weeks where I have 10miles planned as my long run each week so I might make the next 2 weeks 9milers (as todays was a little short) and then only have 3weeks of 10milers.
