Lol...I didnt do any walking yesterday but im still aching :p im off to visit a friend tomorrow and it will definitely include some walking, so hopefully I wont ache too much Friday. ..how are you getting on?

Thanks ladies! My Pacer app keeps me motivated too. Does any here use a fitness band or a step app?

B - Half banana and Bran flakes, semi skimmed milk
L - Vegetable stew with half a flatbread. Orange.
D - Salmon, sweet potato wedges, broccoli, carrots and spinach. Weight watchers caramel bar.
Actually jumped in and posted a picture of my puffy face as my avatar. I hate cameras, posting an image of myself is unheard of! Thought it would hold me accountable and hopefully there will soon be a difference.

Haha, that's true I ache whether I walk or not too. I've noticed that I'm able to stand for much longer periods of time without my back beginning to hurt me now. I used to want to pull up a seat to do the dishes I was that unfit. Have a great visit tomorrow! Going anywhere nice?

Beautiful area of the world, lucky you! I've been to Torquay a couple of times and I was gobsmacked at the difference in temperature between Shropshire, where I lived at the time, and down there! It was literally like being in another country on some days! I guess that's why they call it the English Riviera.
Do you watch The Hotel? I love that programme, that's set in Torquay isn't it?

Lol I love that program! That man is so funny....we're actually looking to move back to Torbay this year.My son's asthma is agitated by the pollution of being in a city (although exeter isnt like Birmingham where my parents are) and since having M.E I suffer terrible with allergies, so back to the seaside it is...its great to hear that you can feel a difference in your fitness, makes it all worth while :)

Yes, the sea air is definitely so much nicer to be around. When I go somewhere with fumes it makes me feel sick now (or maybe I'm just not used to being out the house lol). Moving house is so stressful but it sounds like it will be very worthwhile. Shame it takes so much bumming effort!

Things are still going ok here. It's killing me not weighing myself though. I feel like I might have to weigh myself this weekend (Sunday) even if it's just so I can grasp what my weight loss patterns are in these initial few weeks. Also, I'm such a list person. I make lists of lists! So, not having the stats in front of me will be annoying. I'm going to make an effort to write down all the other positive things Ive gained by controlling my eating on weigh in day, hopefully that will keep my eye on the bigger picture.

B - Eggs and Spinach (post work-out)
L - Low fat cheese and tomatoes on dark ryvitas x 3, salad with dressing, Apple.
D - Thai quorn curry with basmati rice, 1 popadom.
Snacks - Almonds, 3x sugar free werthers originals.
Walked 10k steps (4 miles).

Just read through this and glad to read how positive you now are.

Good job on taking control of the scales, I know that it is is easy to get borderline obsessive on the number when realistically it doesn't show any decrease in inches and increases in self control and self esteem. Been there so many times!!!

Your food diaries also sound yummy and very balanced. Awesome work! X

Big goal - 35lb in 35 weeks

I'm a member of that club too Essie! :D I seriously thought about painting one wall of my kitchen with blackboard paint so I could write to do lists on it! LOL.

And well done on your strength in not weighing - I'm a daily weigher myself and don't know if I could hide the scales, so all power to you :)

Hi Estameme. :wavey:I just wanted to say I have read your diary and want to congratulate you on how well you're doing. I have been overweight since childhood and this has impacted majorly on my self esteem. I too have had periods where I can't leave the house but lately when I have wanted to isolate myself and hide from the world I tell myself no, don't do that. Feel the fear and do it anyway lol. Depression and anxiety is a git to put it mildly but I am making progress, just have to try and work on raising my self esteem every day, not easy after a lifetime of negative thinking!

Anyway well done on your progress so far and I look forward to reading more from you.:)

I have lists on my phone and iPad. Lord knows what I would do if I lost either of them - probably make a to-do list for finding them! Hehe

Not weighing is killing me. Like seriously, it's harder than getting healthy!

Thanks for your kind message Lynn :) Kudos to you for fighting that inner negative voice. I am learning to talk in a more positive and kinder way to myself, and I think it's really helping me turn a corner with my mental health. Perhaps the medication is paving the way for me to have the headspace to do that, but I really think I could easily continue on the same destructive path if I don't change my internal voice too. Baby steps anyway, we are both on the right track today and that's really all we can do! I love the saying 'Feel the Fear but do it anyway' I need to remind myself of that!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by! :)

Here to sub
This times the right time :)

It certainly is, Yvonne!

Really pleased with 5lbs loss this week. Taking me up to 1stone loss in the past 4 weeks. I know I've lost more than that but who cares, I should have tracked from the start like any sensible person would.

Apart from the scales telling me the numbers I have other things to report

- I have made it to 10k steps or more every day this week. On the 10th of Jan this year I couldn't even wash my hair without feeling out of breath.
- I ran! Me! I can jog for five mins at a time now. I am going to keep that up from
now on and keep increasing it.
- I've noticed that my heart is recovering from physical exertion much quicker than it was. I would have to sit down after bringing the shopping in, don't need to think about doing that now.

Stuff to work on:
Increase water intake from 2l to 2.5l at least, especially now I'm exercising.
Get out of the house more - ongoing struggle with this. Doesn't help that I have isolated myself so much that I don't have any friends around here.

Anyway, a successful week moving towards being much healthier. Hurrah!

*goes to check what plant nanny is.....* OMG, what a cute app! I have no idea how people come up with these little motivational tools haha

Are you a long way from home at the moment? Must be difficult keeping on track when you are under someone else's roof and socialising all the time. Especially with events like Valentine's Day thrown into the mix. These things are sent to try us!

Hi Essie,
I love plant nanny it really does (usually) lol keep me on track with the water,

I'm at Bolton atm so not too far , an hours train journey ,
But yes it can be awkward trying to stay on plan , if I'm really focused I can do it but when not feeling it I can struggle, and if he cooks if no way slimming world friendly lol,

But I'm determined tomorrow to get my butt into gear , I won't be back here till Wednesday / Thursday next week so that gives me a week and a half to be on plan hopefully see a loss and then I should be back into it , fingers crossed ,

How's your day going hun ?
