16 stone 8 vs Slim & Save

Hi everyone!

I'm starting slim and save tomorrow! Looking forward to it (the weight loss!) although apprehensive about the diet (eeeek hope I can do this!)

Have lost 32lbs overall, a mix of (mostly) slimming world and Cambridge for a short while at the beginning of this year. Although I cannot afford that anymore, a work colleague recommended S&S!

Have my shakes ready (mostly strawberry & chocolate) and 2 a porridge.

Anyway! Will be having 3 packs and a multiple vit from tomorrow!

Just two questions

1. How long does it take to get into ketosis on this plan? Is it worth buying some sticks or will I just know?
2. When is best to purchase the bars? Is it after a certain amount of weight loss/time on the diet?

Thanks in advance for the support :) although new to slim & save I'm not to this forum - really appreciate how supportive people on here are!

Anyway, here's to saying bye to all this lard! Once and for all!

Edit: just weighed myself (Monday) and I'm 16:11 :-( boo.

I'm still going to get weighed at slimming world (with my friend) on a Thursday night.... Rather than jumping on at boots. So after today I might do my weekly wi's on a Thurs. grrr at the three extra lbs I have to loose!

You need to have 4 packs or 3 plus protein/veg. 3 packs on their own isnt a S&S option. You'll be missing out on too many nutrients

You'll get into ketosis just as quick as on any other VLCD. Don't waste your money on sticks. You can have bars from day one if you like

Sorry hun! I meant the 3 packs and a high protein meal from the list! (plus the allowed skimmed milk)

thanks for the info re: sticks - they were proving expensive!!

I will order some bars next week! Just wasn't certain as I'm sure on CD I remember only being allowed in week 2/3. But then I guess it depends on the CDC!

Yes, the bars are great, they're handy if no time to mix a shake.

I hope your first day went well, hang in there!

First day is awful :-( have wanted to eat pretty much the entire day and food is everywhere!!!

1. Mum wanted to buy me lunch out (what?!)
2. Auntie invites me for tea (first time this has EVER happened)
3. Went round to a friends to watch a movie and not only had she brought in sweets crisps and diet coke (saying no to this is the most difficult!!) but she then wanted to get a takeaway?

These never happen! And all on my first day :-(
Okay so I didn't give in but it's hard. SO.hard!

Wow that's a whole lotta temptation in a day!!! You should be so proud that you didn't give in :) if you can make it through today you can make it through any day :) the milk choc truffa is my fav bar- they are too good though and I've been known to eat more than one in the one sitting so tend not to buy them anymore!!
Good luck with slim and save! Have you ordered any if the meals apart from porridge?

Well guys! Day 1 is down and I am finally in bed with no food temptations!
I had a protein meal of 100g of chicken. I weighed this after it was cooked.

Re: vegetables ... I see varying amounts on people's diaries,.. Is there a rule for certain days in the amount or are people just adding 200h of allowed veg when they feel they need it?

Looking forward to tomorrow - then ketosis is near!

Have decided in still going to get weighed at slimming world on a Thursday (for the weigh and keeping on track) so Will note on a week but mostly weigh on Thursdays.

Wish me luck for day two!!!

You are allowed 200g of veg( cooked weight) from the allowed list each day. Some people take it or leave it.
The meals are really good and have kept me sane- would def recommend them :)

Day 2!

Well, today is much better than yesterday! Am hungry... But not as much as yesterday and there has been almost no temptation...

Breakfast: chocolate shake.
Lunch: strawberry shake
Dinner: (100g) chicken stir fry (200g)

Really enjoyed my dinner and still have one chocolate shake left for today! Wooo!

Have drank 9 glasses of water and three cups of tea!
Feeling positive that I will wake up lighter! Haha!

Wont be weighing until Thursday ( when I usually get weighed at slimming world!)

Hope everyone else is doing good! Going to have a peak through the diaries now :)
