2015 and It's Now or Never!

Might backfire on her, though. Be careful.

Good point Mel if it's something of a stinging nature.

Once you spray it can you tape something over it in case whatever is in there comes into the room?

The vent itself is only an inch or so wide at the most and on the outside of the window frame so I don't think that will be a problem as long as the window is closed immediately afterwards.

Monday 29th September 2014

Forgot to weigh today as I still want to keep an eye on that so I'll do it tomorrow.

Seem to have spent nearly all day phoning various places...Firstly lots of charity shops to get a collection of my stuff and most will only take 1 or 2 boxes and def not any duvets even tho' I assured them that they were brand new. Anyway, one lot going to BHF on Wednesday and more to the Salvation Army on Monday next and that should clear a goodly amount.
Also phoned surgery to make an appointment to see the practice manager and another one to see a doc about this fluid retention in my feet. Will have to make do with a phone call from the doc on Friday otherwise it's a 10 day wait.
Then the council about the noise in my bedroom which I have mentioned already.

Food gone well and cals amount to 1187 and sodium 1538.. bit high but not as bad as it used to be.

Hope your ok? :)

If you haven't been on fb latest video of Grand Daughter is up.She's a fast mover now. :)

Lovely Mary.. I'll take a look.

Everything went pear shaped yesterday. I felt quite nauseous first thing but took no notice as that's often the way if I go too long before eating. Went out to Morrisons for lunch and my nose began to stream like a dripping tap which I thought was really odd. Then called in at Thurlows about the "new" car and he had a Zafira which has a lovely big boot but it's diesel which I'm not particularly au fait with and on further reflection is too big.. I really only want a small car.
Tesco was next call mainly to get some insect repellent and then stopped and had a medium latte and nutty flapjack but by the time I got home I felt really sick and my stomach and intestines felt like they were burning up. By 8pm I had the most tremendous headache and was really feverish. Spent 75% of the night clinging to a bucket and traipsing to the loo. Thankfully I'm now 99% recovered.. Hooray!

So that having been done and dusted I now have the council workman tending to my kitchen extractor fan which apparently just needed to be switched off and back on at the plug..!?!.. as if I hadn't tried that umpteen times before reporting it!

The BHF man should be calling to collect the chosen items .. being picky people as they are.. and I sneaked a couple of extra boxes into the pile which he has now taken as well. ..Yay!
The surgery practice manager's secretary turns out not to be a secretary but just another clerk who cannot make appointments for him anyway and I have to ring next week again when he comes back off holiday..:sigh:
.. and then Kyle from Thurlows just rang and I told him about my decision which he takes with all good humour but no doubt seething after all the effort he put into finding the one with the right sized boot for a mobility scooter..:D

..and lastly my weight from yesterday morning was/is now 188.8lbs (13st 6.8) which I am quite pleased with despite having put on about a couple of pounds.

You should of asked the council workman to look at the vent noise.

Trying to get into a Dr's when you need one is stupid.I went to make an appointment and they couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks so I told them them not to bother but I will write a note in my diary ( i don't have one) in case something happens that I tried getting to see one and she said 'Oh we can fit you in tomorrow'.

I had to go to a different surgery 18th Sept to have a test because I couldn't have it done at my surgery until end of Sept.So got talking to the nurse and she looks after 8000 patients between the 2 surgeries and works 6 days a week.

Poor salesman lost out on some bonus there for October.:)

Things are in a right pickle one way and another with the NHS!

Now those few boxes of things have gone I am able to start to sort for the next collection on Friday. Did a very close inspection of all the pantie girdles and bras to make sure they're in good condition.. the bras in particular still have the sizing labels very clear so that shows they haven't been worn and washed lots of times.

Kept my food quite minimal today as tummy still a bit iffy.

Evening Em,

Well done on your sort out.
I hope you figure out which car to buy.
Sounds like a virus - I'm glad you're better.

Evening Mel.. Car is proving to be more difficult than I expected but I dare say I'll get there in the end.

Funny sort of day... can't put my finger on anything but in no mood to do much.
Think it's a shower and bed now.

Friday 3rd October 2014

Awful start to the day and a quick dose of the hard stuff was in order and then everything went fine.
Sorted all the stuff for the Salvation Army to collect and it's all standing in the hallway and they didn't come! Phoned them and was told their van never collects on a Friday..

Advertised two feather and down duvets for free on Streetlife and had a very nice man came for them and gave me £15 which was quite unexpected... then he asked me if I had got the "noise" sorted and then had a look for me and would you believe the blighters remained really quiet.. not a peep!

Woman from council came to inspect the property and I asked her about the situation with my split level oven and hob and that I would have to take the oven unit with me when I move as mine was thrown out in the refurbishment. She was very dubious about it but said she would find out and let me know.

Saturday 4th October 2014

Good start to the day with some great C&W music on Rodeo Norfolk.
Noticed my weight gone down another 1.5lbs which is great.
Not done much except the usual house work.. did expect someone to call for another freebie duvet put on Streetlife but she didn't arrive. Did think about going out but it came over really dull and rained so I decided to stay in the warm

Morning Em!

How lovely that gent insisted on paying you. Did you purchase the oven? If not, then wouldn't they need to put one on your new place? If not, then watch Gumtree and local Facebook selling pages. What a headache.

You seem to be making real progress with your moving prep!

It was my oven and hob that I bought when I moved in here and it's still going well with no problems so I much prefer to keep it.

Lady arrived this afternoon and was very surprised to see that the duvet was still in it's original packing so she gave me a fiver.. am well pleased with that.

Felt a bit fed up yesterday as I was planning on going out today but the weather forecast said it was going to be cloudy, dull, cold and wet... not a bit of it! Beautiful warm sunny day.. Yay! Went to Morrisons for lunch and then on to Tesco and got a bit of shopping.

Another decent person. You must bring out the best in people.

If it's your oven and hob - why would there be any issue with you taking it with you?

It was lovely out. It's been nice every time I've committed to sitting inside a dark theatre. ;)

It's not the actual oven that is in question Mel, it's the oven housing unit where the oven is situated or put in T_2120_Double_Oven_2_Pan.jpgJust an example.
Even so it does seem ridiculous to me that I should have to ask about it seeing as it's not likely to be of any use to an incoming resident. If push comes to shove I shall just take it with me and they can tackle me afterwards.

Had a bit of extras today as in some chocolate marshmallow teacakes and an egg custard tart but totals have not been too bad... and rechecked everything for sodium which is great.

Another 1lb and a bit off.. and I'm not even trying really!

Was a bit taken aback as having lolled about in my nightie this morning I find the Salvation Army collectors at the door. He was extremely nice and said he would come back later as immediately my reaction was to sent him away as I wasn't dressed but then I quickly called him back as the majority of the stuff was stacked at the doorway anyway so him and his helper took that away..Yay!
I now only have a few bits and pieces left to shift and once I've rearranged my room to a nice looking area I'll post some pics to compare with the before stage.

Phoned my "massage" lady and cancelled tomorrow's as I've had such a runny nose and not felt terribly well.

Made a banana cake with two rather over ripe bananas.. always put in only half the sugar stated as I find that's plenty sweet enough.

Had tuna salad tonight.. John West tuna in brine states on the tin that drained it's 112g.. I made it only just 95g!

Yes, probably better to ask forgiveness than permission.

HEE HEE on the nightie. I'm a bad one for not getting dressed - I've started trying to make myself put on fitness clothes at the very least. Yay to the pound off and Whoo Hoo to the decluttering success.

Tuesday 7th October 2014

All good this morning apart from the fact I slept until 11.30!.. Good sleep anyway.

Took a granny blanket to my neighbour for her doggie which I had told her about.
Then another couple of bags to charity shop one had about 20 good quality bras plus numerous ladies briefs that I had bought and were too small so they were all absolutely new...and bought another duck ornament for my collection.

On to Tesco and had Costa toastie plus medium latte and a nutty flapjack for lunch.. did a bit of a shop especially for more yogurts and some strong cheese to make cheese straws for a McMillan coffee morning next Saturday..said I would provide some food as I most probably wont be able to go.

At last managed to make an appointment with the surgery practice manager expecting him to sound a bit stand-offish but if anything he sounded quite exhausted.

Counts been a bit OTT... especially as I had a little episode of the "poor me's" this evening and scoffed a couple of crumpets oozing with butter and they didn't taste very nice anyway! :sigh:

...not as bad as originally thought..

Very bad night and not a good start to the day...
Managed to get myself together before my home help arrived and after a nice chat we went and had another look and listen to the noise in the bedroom window area. As she was up on stool right near the vent I asked her to squirt a goodly spray of Raid insect repellent and within seconds wasps were buzzing furiously around which had obviously come from the eaves... at least I know now what it is and can get the council to send someone to deal with it...hopefully!?!

Cleaning done I then had a lay down and fell asleep for ages so I guess it'll be another funny peculiar night. Not eaten much but then I did eat far too much yesterday so that evens things somewhat.

Morning Em,
I'm glad you know what it is and can get it sorted. But OH MY!
I hope you're feeling better soon.
It's lovely and sunny here.

Friday 10th October 2014

Had a meeting with the surgery practice manager yesterday and he was very attentive and asked me a couple of times if I wanted to make a written report of all my concerns which I declined mainly because I don't want to have that on MY record. He understood completely that I now want to be transferred to another doctor which is great and I was also able to ask him about the situation regarding not being able to get an afternoon appointment for a Db check. Well pleased with that and hopefully things will be much better now.

Phoned the council this morning regarding the wasp nest and there is a charge of about £65 but as I am on pension credit I only had to pay £35. He did say that they will usually all die when the cold weather comes but this nest has been there for at least 3yrs or more.

Spent the afternoon making mince pies and jam tarts to take to a woman who is having a McMillan's Coffee morning tomorrow. I was rather annoyed to find that my arms are so painful and week that I couldn't roll out the pastry nice and thinly so they all ended up being rather chunky looking... tasted okay so that's the main thing I guess.
Ate 2or 3 and now have awful heartburn .. ginger tea is the next thing to make.
