2015 and It's Now or Never!

Afternoon Em!

You hair looks very good (quite thick, too) -- if you stand at an angle or have a bright light on you (and not use the flash) you won't get they light spot.

Are the sandals for your cruise? Be careful -- Kally broke her foot by wearing flimsy (non-supportive) shoes. Cute and be damaging.
I need to do some housework exercise!

My aunt used to shop for birthday cards every January. She would address the envelopes, sign the cards and write the date it needed to be listed where the stamp goes. Then she had them in order in a letter rack or file. She'd check her cards every Sunday - she'd add a personal note, photo, newspaper article, etc sometimes before sealing and posting. She never missed a birthday! So, efficient and thoughtful. I should employ her system - as a tribute if nothing else.

At the time I took the photo(s) I couldn't fathom out how to switch the flash off .. but I felt I looked really nice .. for a change!!

I know what you are saying about the sandals Mel.. I do have to be very careful to wear near enough very sensible shoes and these only have a very low heel.

Amazed to find that I'm still the same weight and quite pleased too even tho' I desperately would like to lose more.. but then I haven't actually been trying very hard at all just lately. Think I'm going to wait until the new year and see if I can find some way of getting a bit more off... perhaps my new doctor will be able to give me some better advice.

Lovely sunny day but very cold... back been a bit iffy so I haven't done much today.
Bought some Xmas cards yesterday when I went to Morrisons for lunch and got them all written out and stamped ready for the off...altho' I want to get some little kiddies cards to send to the three wee ones. I always remember the excitement of getting a letter or card thro' the post which was just addressed to me.

Not bothered to do much of a count as I've been picking all day and dread to think what it would be anyway.

Those are really lovely.

I'm so impressed -- I haven't packed one box or written one card. My parcels are usually long posted by now. I'm not on top of things at all.
You're very thoughtful. The kids will love getting the cards.

. . . Be careful -- Kally broke her foot by wearing flimsy (non-supportive) shoes. Cute and be damaging.
I wouldn't worry too much Emm - Kally's sandals were high heeled flip flops which are positively dangerous for your feet.
Yours look fine.

Glad that your weight is roughly the same even though you aren't being a 100% on plan.
But you're going to get a bit of a pep talk from me.
You know that just ignoring things until the new year is just hiding, don't you?
I know it's tough - tell me about it, as I'm strugglung too - but the longer you put it off the harder it will be to get back on track.
Take one day at a time and just try to be as on plan as you can be.
Don't beat yourself up if things go a bit haywire, but equally don't adopt the "sod it" mentality and go wild just 'cos one meal wasn't perfect.
Get straight back on it for the next meal. That way things will never go really pear shaped.

If you concentrate for the next 4 weeks before your cruise you should be able to lose a few pounds so that you can enjoy the cruise - if you see what I mean. Otherwise you could be facing a double whammy in the new year with twice as much to lose.

I will be on a diet for life - otherwise I will end up the porker I was when I started.

((( Hugs ))) but you can do this if you want to.

Good points Bev.. I must admit that things have now got waaaay out of hand and today I was a real glutton!! I ate so much that I felt thoroughly sick and thought I was going to throw up for 2-3 hours this evening... This has to stop I know. It's a combination of feeling very frustrated at my static weight problem mingled with the apprehension of the travelling soon.

Evening Emm, :)

I like you cruise shoes. You just be careful when chasing those young men on the boat.Wouldn't want you to do any damage to your ankles. You know what us 'young' ones are like after a small dram.;)

Life is too short to worry about a couple of llbs to lose before the cruise. As long as you eat sensibly between now and then you'll be fine.Get back on it in the New Year.:)

Thanks Mary.. Very pleased with them.
Eating sensibly is going to be the mantra from now on.

I was going to get one of these for Grandaughter but as she's too young to know what it's all about I'll get her one next year.:)

Looks great and my great grand's are too young as well but good idea.

Tuesday 25th November 2014

Lovely sunny day again and as they had an advert on TV for the food collection I got together several items to take. Went to Tesco at Blue Boar but no one around apart from a trolley stuck up a corner with a notice on it for donations but quite honestly I felt that anyone could help themselves to stuff put in there so I didn't bother.

I had planned to have my lunch in the Costa Café but there was a mile long queue and I didn't feel I could stand that long. On the way home I turned to go along past Asda and went in there and had a McD's big mac, fries and strawberry shake. Then ate a banana when I arrived home and ended up feeling thoroughly sick!...Too...too much!! :copon:

Tomorrow I shall be back to my diet AND I am going to be slightly less worried about the sodium aspect but try to keep the carbs down as much as possible.

Afternoon Em,

Everything is so busy this time of year - I'm a Costa fan, too.

I think Mary's suggestion of focusing on healthy eating as you prep for your cruise is good. I hope you take loads of photos to share when you get back.

Wednesday 26th November 2014

Fairly good this morning with the ole back problem.. got up and tidied everywhere as I was expecting a guy from Streetlife to come and sort my TV for me then found a message that it was his pub quiz night so it wasn't convenient and he'd get here later if he could! Needless to say he didn't arrive and now I am wondering whether that was his way of saying he's not interested. I think I'll leave it for a couple of days and see what transpires and then send him a message saying just that.

Felt so cold all day even tho' I've been quite busy doing lots of jobs.
Very pleased that I have kept to a much better eating plan. Carbs still a tad too high but I'll deffo get that sorted tomorrow.

With a bloke - it could very well be that he forgot it was quiz night. Give it a day, message to reschedule and if it doesn't happen try someone else.

Think that is the best way to go Mel.

Didn't sleep hardly at all last night..started to doze off in the chair so got up and went to bed and was immediately wide awake and that happened twice. Felt reasonably okay for most of the day altho' I was supposed to go to the U3A group this afternoon and just didn't have the energy.. and besides I didn't really want to go out into the damp cold outside.

Did get lots of small jobs done again.. too numerous to mention but kept me busy.
I did get rid of one paint tin yesterday by diluting the contents and pouring down the loo..only 12 more to go!

Couldn't be bothered to do a proper meal this evening as I had fallen asleep for a couple of hours this afternoon and it always leaves me feeling a bit blah afterwards...just hope the rather low calorie count wont end up with me being a bit too hungry later and falling prey to the biscuit tin.

Breakfast - Oats 30g + Honey 1/2 Tblspn
Lunch - Cheese 40g + Lettuce + Tomato + Carrot grated 38g + S.Cream 20g
Snack - Rich Fruit Cake 1/2slice + Coffee + Milk SS 100ml + Sugar 3g
Dinner - Eggs poached 2 + Mash 30g + Sauce 6g

Morning Emm,

Does you council have a recycling place? Ours will take almost anything. Maybe a quick way for you to get rid of your paint.:)

Already made enquiries and their response was to let the contents dry out and then put tins in ordinary rubbish but some of these tins are large and a good 1/3 full. The main refuse or recycling centre wont take paint anymore.. they did for a few years but have now stopped it.

Nice surprise this morning as weight has gone down from 192.2 to 190.8.

Finally got around to doing the sewing of the trousers today and was somewhat delighted to find that there was only the one pair that needed the bottoms taken up. My home help had pinned one of them up so they would be done properly so that's a real relief to get them out of the way and put my table and machine back in their proper places.

However, very annoying that I cannot get my emails and on going to Digital Spy forum I learned that TalkTalk is at the root of the problem so it's not something I have done..
On their web site it says that the problem has been fixed but lots reporting in that they are still having the same problem.. as I am too!!! GRRRRRRRR!!! :pcwhack:
Hope it's okay in the morning.

Did some mackerel with pasta and peas which was very tasty but I do find mackerel quite sickly and should have made the 200g pack into 3 meals and not 2.
Counts very good anyway so am well pleased with myself.. altho' carbs just a bit higher than I was planning.

Breakfast - Banana small + Oats 30g + Honey 1/2 Tblspn
Lunch - Crumpet 1 + Cheese 24g
Snack - Nil
Dinner - Mackerel 100g + Spaghetti 75g + Peas 100g + Olive Oil 10ml
Supper - Digestive Biscuit 1
Extra - Milk SS 240ml

Morning Em,

Is the paint good to use? If it is - you could offer it on Freecycle.

Your cruise is sounding better and better. Those excursions should be really good.

Take That in Sheffield! That should be good. I love Gary Barlow.

I'm impressed with your industry - I need to take a page out of your book and get busy.

Sunday 30th November 2014

Out to lunch at Morrisons and had my usual chicken roast.
Couple sitting just opposite me I overheard them talking and everything she said he immediately analysed it. I had to take a good look at her in the end as I was intrigued at her response.. or lack of it... and she looked totally bored... What a plonker!

Went on to Tesco for a couple of things plus I bought a chicken that was reduced from £6.18 to £3 and it was an organic one too so well pleased.

Car going in for the MOT tomorrow and I have to remember to tell the man who brings it back not to pull the hand brake on firmly as I can't get it off again. They also change the radio station which I find really annoying as I can never get the station I want again afterwards...MEN!!

Weight gone down another pound today.. It'll be great if it remains like that tomorrow morning.

Breakfast - Oats 30g + Honey 1/2Tblspn
Lunch - Chicken + Carrots + Peas + Mash + Gravy
Snack - Digestive Biscuit 1
Dinner - Cheese 50g + Lettuce + Tomato + Beetroot 50g + S.Cream 20g

Morning Em,

I hate when they change the station, move the mirrors, adjust the seat, etc. but I do like having a safe vehicle.

Congrats on the loss - I think it should count double when you lose during the holiday season.

Well done on the loss Emm. Just think of being the same as at the start of the year as maintaining!
You haven't gained, have you? So it could be a lot worse.

Monday contd:

Another phone call to TalkTalk and eventually was told that as I use a 3rd party technician they cannot help me so that's going to be another £45 for something that was an error by them... :argh:

Was hoping he would call today but it wont be until tomorrow.

MOT went okay altho' I did have to have 3 new tyres .. I know I am prone to driving into the kerb when I park as I try to get as close as poss as there is a bus stop just behind where I park.. Wrote a note and gave to the guy who collected it to inform him exactly where to park when bringing it back and he took not the slightest bit of notice and parked it where HE thought would be best... At least I managed to catch him before he got too far away and got him to move it.. he was really surprised that I wanted it parked outside of the 2hr parking area.. I had to explain that I have a parking permit!

Made a trifle for dessert.. raspberries, jelly, custard and topped with some cream..yummy!

Breakfast - Oats 30g + Honey 1/2 Tblspn
Lunch - Crumpet 1 + Cheese 21g
Snack - Eggs HB 2 + Multi Grain Crackers 2
Dinner - Salmon (canned) 120g + Salad + S.Cream 30g + Mash 30g

Monday 1st December 2014 All very good this a.m.... lost 2.4lbs. Now 189.8 (13st7.8lbs) I may well get to be exactly the same as the beginning of the year...

I'm glad you have your car sorted. And, being the same ALWAYS beats a gain.
