    Hi and welcome :welcome:

Whether a diet like CD is one you can cope with and is the right one for you really depends on why you want to lose the weight and what your triggers are for overeating. What is it about other diets (presuming you have done them) that hasn't worked for you?

    Advice please

I have tried all of the mainstream diets, Sw and WW ETC. I have an unhealthy obsession with eating and there is never any real reason for my overeating. I feel I need to have a complete break as a little food means more and then some more...
I have a reason to lose weight, I wish to begin trying for a baby within the next 6 months. I need to lose at least 5 stone. I also get disheartened if I don't make significant progress. I have thought about this a lot, as have most people here I imagine!

Personally I used to do well on other diets for the first stone or two, the weight loss would then slow down a lot and the lack of progress would throw me off and I'd go back to overeating. Physically, CD has got me past that obstacle and mentally, cutting food out of the equation has forced me to examine why I overeat, as having a bit of extra food and then "making up for it the next day" (which never comes does it!) isn't an option. You just get on with it.

Obviously I can only speak for myself but I would say go for it but be prepared for hard work which is well rewarded. You have a great incentive to get the weight off and I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide x

Good for you for feeling positive. You can but try and if it's not for you, well at least you'll know that it's not an option and can look again at another approach. Good luck and post often even if you end up back on WW or SW - the support you get here really does help x

i've tried loads of diets in the past, as have probably most of us on here.
The thing i find easy about this diet, is food is completely taken out of the picture.
You still have to struggle when others around you are eating, but you dont have to think about what foods you can and cant have when its time for lunch, only which sachet shall i have?
The usual 'how many calories is this?' and how much fat does that contain?' dont come into it.
Its not easy, but its not nearly as hard as i thought it was going to be.
    Good luck x

I lurked around for a while then desided the cd was for me, as others said, you cut food out and can really focus on why you eat things ect ect

I am onto day 6 now, and feel fab, not hungry, even have to force my last shake down! (I am on SS+ which is 4 shakes a day)

Good luck in making your choice;)

Taking food out of the equation does help. However, remember you will still have to deal with your relationship with food once you lose the weight. That I think is the biggest problem for many of use that have lost a good amount of weight on any diet. It's going back to the way we ate before. Bear that in mind as you go along your CD journey. I've literally had an epiphany thanks to the posts on the Emotional eaters.... any advice? thread. Take a look at that if you are a emotional/compulsive eater or both! (Which is me!!)

:D Well Done hajis-sweetie I'm on day 4 and like you pondered for some time, but managed somehow to get my head in the right place.
    My days so far
    Day 1 - No problem
    Day 2 - Headache
    Day 3 - A little Hungry
    Day 4 - I'm feeling thinner already
Not that you'll be the same but it gives you an idea, stick with it and the results will come too x
