Sorry this is going to be a bit of an essay but please bear with me...

Before embarking on s&s I've had issues for a few years with my iron and b12 levels which are under investigation at the moment. I have been on iron tablets for the last 5 years on and off and have also been on b12 supplements. The doctors think that I could possibly have coeliac disease and I am having an endoscopy at the end of this month to have a biopsy. The consultant though told me to come off all my meds for the next 4 months as they are maintaining my iron level at a low/normal level and he wants to see how my body responds to not being given a supplement. Now this made me happy as it meant that I could do s&s as I was no longer on any meds but here comes the problem...

The 3 packs plus protein per day only give me an average of 46% of my recommended allowance for iron every day and I know I should be taking a multivitamin but the consultant did say that he wanted to see what my body did by itself with no synthetic supplements :-/ However I'm now on day 6 and thought I had dreamt the night before last about chest pains in the night waking me up but then last night I had terrible palpitations when I went to bed and am still aware of them now. I went to the doctors this morning and he said that if I had been to him before starting s&s he would've said that the timing wasn't right for me to do it but said that he can't tell me what to do :-/

Now I'm really confused about what to do, I haven't been able to face any packs yet today and I feel really tired and weak. Really want to lose the weight but don't want to make myself ill :-( but then I don't want to fail :-(

Please help me xx

I think you need to listen to your doctor. If he doesn't think this is a good idea personally I'd stop it. At least til you have other things sorted

Your health is way too important

I agree, i think maybe you should get your health issues sorted before going on any VLCD. I know that I am 'healthy' apart from my weight and doing any sort of diet plays havoc with my body so wouldn't want to risk giving your other investigations false symptoms or aggravate existing ones IYKWIM.....

hope it all works out for you xxxxx

I would come off SnS - do some low carbing seeing as you are in ketosis and then check with your doctor/specialist. Your health has to come first.

I would also listen to the Dr.... Get all your investigations sorted and then you can go at it 100%

Just my opinion obv!!

X

Thank you so much for your support and advice guys!! I am truly gutted at having to give up :-( but I think that it is sensible to listen to my body (and the doctor for that point). Good luck to you all, I'm sure you will all do fantastically and look super slim in no time at all :) xxx
