AJ's LL Management Journey!

Gosh, I didn't think anyone remembered me as a deaf person!

Actually, I need to email my LLC this week. She asked me to email her with feedback about the meeting and what could she do to help me. I keep meaning to do that but I get distracted!! I will do that tomorrow since I am not working on Thursdays.

I know that we are getting our exercise DVD this weekend, I am going to ask my LLC if she could try and get a subtitled one for me. I hope so!

I am on Day 24 and I hope that I will lose some weight this week because of TOTM - it is due this weekend! It would be amazing to lose two stones in 4 weeks!!! But I doubt I will lose 6lbs this week.
 
According to Foundation book, we will receive our Lighterlife exercise band and James Lamper More Active exercise DVD on Week 5.

Did you not receive it :confused:

Your posts reminded me that my counsellor passed me three CDs which she had forgotton to give me during the first weeks of Management (on Tuesday). I haven't listened to them yet!

I was soaking in the bath earlier and remembered something I had wanted to post. Last week I went swimming and in the past (before LL) used to float easily on the water. I can't anymore because I sink!

Not particularly surprising when you consider that, according to my fat monitor scales, I was 49% fat (that would have consisted of about 9 stone of pure fat). I am now consist of about 3 stone of fat - so I sink!!

How lovely to say you sink because you're too skinny! I haven't been swimming in ages. I haven't got a costume that fits any more I don't think. Do you swim regularly ? I know I need to tone up but I'm not a fan of the gym or swimming ( I'm as blind as bat without my glasses and have had some near misses going into the mens changing rooms, talking to strangers in the pool who I thought were some one else - you get the picture).

You don't seem to have Bingo wings in your photo so what ever you're doing - its working!
 
The last time I swam was during last October holiday and before that during the last summer holiday. I would not go to a swimming pool at home.

In the end I went to a specialist shop to get a swimming costume which I felt comfortable wearing. I have a lot of loose skin on my tummy area (the result of two pregnancies plus excess weight generally) and all the costumes I tried on in high street stores simply didn't fit right. The costume I eventually bought ticked all the boxes in regard to comfort, fit and visual appeal ... at a price. £60 to be exact.

There is a bit of lose skin on the upper arms, but generally I have been lucky there. The tops of my legs are somewhat wrinkly, however, when I stand with my legs together, there is a gap between them! That's a first!

When I was at the swimming pool, my son said to me that I looked 'older' with my costume on, more wrinkly. "Thanks for that, son" was my wry reply!

In fact I do have more wrinkles on my face, which I am coming to terms with.

Ah well, at least I don't have to look at it!
 
AJ - Forgot to say - BIG CONGRATULATIONS for reaching your goal. It is just a number, but fantastic to say its Your number and you have achieved what you set out to - you must be incredibly proud and from the sound of your management journey it will long continue.
 
Oh AJ, well done for getting to goal. Be very proud of yourself. I have followed your thread with interest and you have coped with management so well. My fear is that I will over-indulge when I start management so you proving it can be done sensibly is a huge boost.

I have my LL meeting tomorrow evening - interestingly when I asked about "management" two weeks ago and when it would be right for me my LLC said it was "better" to get to goal first, what ever goal I set myself, even if it was a sub 25 BMI goal and then start management as she said I may find I put weight on with the reintroduction of food. Odd that advice differs - but I do trust my LLC so even though I am 24.9 BMI I want to lose about another 10lbs I think so management will have to wait for me....:(

I guess you can be flexible, which is a good thing. When I initially asked about when to move, my counsellor said how about starting next Tuesday? Whoa I thought, my BMI is still about 26 point something. However, I carried on losing on M'ment, up to this week anyway. My BMI is now below 25 (yipee). I will concentrate on maintaining from now on.

At my age, (43) it will just increase my wrinkles (on my face) to lose any more. I have already had to come to terms with lines appearing on the forehead and round the eyes which were not there before LL, and caused by weight loss on my face.

Will you do a diary too, Jools?

I would have thought that all LL clients get everything as stated in the weekly sections of the book.

You should expect to receive your motivational Feeling Good DVD and your exercise ball on Week 9! You can find it on page 111 of the Foundation Book "Week 9 at a glance"

We were given pedometers on week 2. Made me excited about getting more things especially this exercise ball, lol!
 
I didn't get everything either - my counsellor doesn't really follow the book or the programme as such (which is how I like it). We did get it all eventually in an ad-hoc way. I never got the swiss ball but I didn't want it until a friend mentioned that she'd like one - so I asked for it last week - although I'm well out of foundation now.
 
Hi AJ thanks for your reply. I will see how I get on at my meeting tonight and discuss management and when to start. Realistically I've got about another 11lbs to shift I think. I will do a diary as I think this will perhaps be the hardest part of the journey for me. I have already started a diary thread in the Weight Loss diary section.

I wouldn't worry about the wrinkles - I'm 41 and you can't avoid them althoguh I do have a very strict facial regime using good products and I treat myself to a bio oxygen facial once a month which is lovely. Wrinkles are a part of our life - someone once said about their wrinkles - "I've earned these through life and living in all its glory so I am quite proud of them" - a good way of putting it. I know I certainly look better dressed than undressed at the moment with a fair bit of saggy skin on my abdomen and boobs. But so much better to be a healthy weight than taughtly skinned and morbidly obese.
 
Definitely! And it strikes at any age, I tell you... after losing 5 1/2 stone so far, I'm noticing some around my eyes and I'm 21! There's no escaping it.

Having an appointment with my GP today to see about a plastic surgery referral for my body... fingers crossed they'll be accommodating to the idea!!!
 
Success :) He's making the referral, and apparently there's not much of a waiting list for NHS cosmetic surgery in Durham, so here's hoping!
 
It's Friday and usual (!) hot oranges/cinnamon and ginger for breakfast (plus pack).

Went out to lunch and ordered the soup again. This time it was 'Experimental Lentil'. Definately home-made this time! Although not officially on lentil 'till Tuesday, the alternative was a 'half spring chicken salad' (including cheese and coleslaw) which I knew I could not manage. The soup was very nice (I left the crusty bread/butter on the side, as usual).

Tea was half a chicken breast with raita, tomato and radish. Ran out of spinach!!!!!

Went out to quiz night and nibbled on carrot, orange peppers and strawberries. Tried a bit of a dip someone had bought. Checked what it was later (chile and cheese). Looked at the fat content 35%!!! Holy Moses I should have had some of the avacado dip, which I had rejected as being 'too fat', but 'only' had 18% fat!! Drank water all evening.

Left the Doritos, toffee popcorn, cheese selection, crackers, smoked salmon and other dips for everyone else. Won four bottles of wine in the raffle. By the end I was embarrassed to put my hand up ... again! I gave two of the bottles to my friends and kept the other two.

Didn't win the quiz, but had a fine old time as usual. Same time next year!!! Over £800 raised for our sponsored school in Peru.

Was concious that I had had 'difficulty' with going to the loo yesterday. In fact, felt bloated and sore for most of the day. Have made a greater effort to drink water today and have had no discomfort at all. Been to the loo ok too.

Had my final pack and drink, and am now off to bed! Hubby will be waiting expectantly!!! :D Hmm, I wonder why???

 
Lve this thread & check in every few days!! Does seem the LL councellors differ hugely but guess thats normal life eh! Just hope mine is good. I thoughtthe "bits" they give you were part of the contract though so seems naughty not too - perhaps they're selling on ebay!!
Mind you thread should be changed to the increasing sex life of a sucessful LL girl! Your OH sounds like he's died & gone to heaven AJ!! Keep up the good work..and posting - its great to hear what management WILL be like...hopefully in about 8 months!

As far as the 'bits' are concerned, they are mentioned on a week by week basis in the green book you get for Foundation.

In Development (if you continue with SSing for a few more weeks) you should receive a yellow booklet and a scrapbook (blank pages) to fill up with notes taken at the meetings, over the weeks.

In Management you receive a large blue book, a receipe book every 4 weeks, and a 'journal ' book to write in. My counsellor initially forgot to give me the CD's, which come every 2 weeks, but it is not a problem! I haven't made the time to listen to them yet.

Yes, the bedroom antics are as a result of MY increase in confidence in both my appearance AND my potential. I am willing to try something new, rather than assume that I will not be able to do it/be rubbish/fail/look ugly or stupid. I hasten to add, that this extends to every other area of my life, not just sex!

I am visualising myself looking the same in future, (particularly on holiday in summer) and I think that doing this regularly will help me keep making the right choices. I also have a photo in my handbag (I keep meaning to scan it and put it on the 'before and after' site) which is somewhat upsetting to look at. It is a very rare picture that was taken when we were on holiday two years ago and I hardly recognise myself.

If the 'crooked thinking' begins, I will just have a quick look at it, and it will be a wake-up call NOT to give in to the voices ... or else I may wake up one day like that photo again!!
