Alli's 2011 "Head stuff" diet

Fingers crossed your car wont take as long as the garage says it will..... I think spring is definately on its way, it looks like a beautiful spring morning here but it is totally freezing....

Well I've done what I always do after a good loss - I eat too much and put it back on! Not sure if I've put any on but I have used all of my WW weekly allowance (slush fund) and only have the low number of daily points to use now until next week. I will do it - but still not sure if I'll lose any weight this week but I guess as long as I haven't put any on that's fine.

It's so annoying because I haven't binged or even eaten that much - it doesn't take much, does it. A lunch out at work and a couple of kitkat bars and that was that. Oh well, Oh well, Oh well :)

Hi Alli,

I find WW and similar diet difficult because portion control is one of my downfalls. Are you working through Beck? It could possibly be helpful on making choices, etc.

I hope you have a good day, and work is not to stressful.

Alli, you have my sympathies.........I love a good portion ;) and that is my downfall.

I really think that its not what we eat but how much of it. Think of the "All you can Eat" buffets. I pile my plate up sooooooo high. Several slices of meat, loads of veg, a huge Yorkshire pudding and so many roast potatoes, you could feed an army and lashings of gravy.

Trying to cut into the food sends it flying because there is no room on the plate. I am determined to get my money's worth and I do and then can't move for three hours with the bloatedness and discomfort. I don't know why I act that way. It's not like the food is going to run out. Why not just have a little of everything and if needing more, go and get some more? I also have the horrible habit of scoffing food. It barely hits the sides of my mouth and therefore brain doesn't register the food until I have overloaded!!! :eek:

These are the things that I am going to have to learn the most. Already it has become very natural to have my 810 meal on a side plate. I feel very satisfied when I've eaten it too, whereas if it was served on a dinner plate I might be thinking hrrmph, not a lot there to eat :(

What I have to learn, and put into practice every day of my life from now on is to also slow it down, enjoy and savour every mouthful and much smaller portions. No sweat :sigh: :D

We'll do it hun NO CHOICE!!!!xx
 
Yes I definately think eating out eats into your points, that was my downfall the 3 weeks I did WW, but I did still lose weight the 2 weeks I used my slush fund, so stick to your daily points and you should be fine. Have a good day xx
 
Ah well Alli... not disastrous, as long as you stay within points, so try not to beat yourself up. A week is a long time, too... still plenty of time to show another loss.

I hope all is well with you and yours? Any news on the car? They were supposed to work on ours yesterday, but we've not had a call. I'll check today to see if a) the worked on it, and b) is it is done. Fingers cross the part we bought was all it needed.

Sorry that I haven't posted much in the past few days but work is so busy and I just haven't got the energy to do anything (including opening the laptop) when I get home.

Diet hasn't been going well this week - it's just been difficult when we've had to work through lunch and we've had lunch bought in. I haven't gone mad or anything but it's hard to stay on track when your choices are sandwich triangles and crisps!

I'm not too worried about it though - hopefully I will STS at least but if not I'll deal with it. I'm having a quiet weekend hopefully so will hopefully be back on form then.

I will catch up on your diaries tonight or tomorrow - hopefully you're all doing well!

Hi Alli, weekend soon and you can have a rest. You'll only be looking after 2 young children, a dog and a puppy 24/7 after all! xx

I feel a lot better today after a very quiet day yesterday. Other than popping over to a friend's house for coffee and taking the dogs out to a country park locally we didn't really do anything. The house is a tip so will potter about today and try and catch up on chores. Also need to go to the supermarket as the fridge is completely bare!

I haven't stuck to the diet at all this weekend but haven't gone overboard either. We just don't have enough food at home so have been cooking according to what we had - spinach feta filo bake for lunch and some defrosted bolognese for dinner. I will be happier when my fridge and larder's filled up again ;)

Am suffering from Slimming World envy at the minute as the friend I went to see yesterday has just started and she dished up a bowlful of pasta and I weighed out what I could have had on WW and it was a pitiful comparison. Am considering moving over as it might be easier to stick to, but then again maybe that's just sabotaging thoughts and I should just get on with it.

I'm off to dressed now and get the shopping in! We have managed to borrow a car for this week so that's good!

You've done SW before haven't you Alli? I really like it. I'm eating plenty, am never hungry and because of this, find it easier to resist unsuitable food. (I didn't say 'never!' :rolleyes:) xx

I have and I lost well until a few weeks in when I started to eat more and more until the weight loss stopped. I have all the books so could do it if I wanted but am worried that I'm going to go pasta mad again :eek:.

Am having a day off today anyway as we are only just about to go to the supermarket so have kind of followed SW today without meaning to as all we have at home (more or less) are pasta, tinned tomatoes and eggs :D.

DD and I took the bus to the local town and had a Starbucks coffee - I love the fact that she is old enough now to have a proper giggle with (she's 6).

What a difference a relaxing weekend and a bit of sunshine can make! I feel like myself again after last week when I was so busy, stressed and generally feeling on edge all the time!

I'm trying SW for a week to see how I go. I was thinking about it yesterday and it's my diet and I can chop and change as I choose! :D. I struggled last week and so I'll do something different this week and next week - who knows!

For breakfast I had poached egg on toast. Lunch will be tortilla and salad and dinner might be some kind of risotto...

Hope you are all seeing some sunshine this morning (oops just seen it's lunch time, oh well...)!
