Alli's 2011 "Head stuff" diet

Hi Alli,

It will only quote what is outside the previously quoted text. So, when I write in a quote box -- it becomes part of the quote. I had to type at least 3 characters outside the box, so I typed my full name verses MM.

Anyway, if you are like me -- spending the 65 quid will make stick to it. I hate to waste money. However, I do like to have someone else weigh and record my weight. I think it keeps me honest.

I am working through the Beck and expect that I will have keep working on it for a long time. I am still formulating my plans for maintaining my weight once I get to goal, but at the rate I am losing it'll be some time before I have to worry about that.

I hope you have a good week.

MM

I don't know - I've spent so much money on diets (clubs, online Inutitive Eating programmes, books etc) and haven't stuck to all of them so I'm not sure it's enough of a motivation when the going gets tough. BUT, I am going to stick to this one - it's only 3 months (for now) and it will mean i fit in to my summer clothes which would be absolutely brilliant.

I've done well today and have stayed within my allotted syns (not counting my breakfast Slim Fast shake as I hadn't started then ;)) so am feeling positive!

Even better- I've also cooked a massive portion of pasta salad so now I have work lunches for the next couple of days and am working from home Thu / Fri so can sort food out easily then. Lunches at work are not that easy on SW as anything pre-packed is generally high in syns unless you count things like (low fat) super noodles and other dried (what I'd call camping) food. I'm not a fan of this kind of food and it means I have to prepare lunches every day which is a drag. Oooh I've just realised that the canteen at work serve jacket potatoes so that's an option on days when a packed lunch isn't practical...

Can you tell I'm typing so that I won't eat LOL! I've walked Molly for an hour just now and she was glad to get home :D. Anything to make sure I have a successful first day. A few good days under my belt and it will all be so much easier.

Right - off to tell the children to stop playing chess and get in to bed. They are usually in bed by now but DH is trying to teach DD chess and time's run away with them I think....

Hi Alli,

It sounds as if you are being very "Beck": cooking up what you need for your lunches. Beck is big on "planning" so you avoid making the wrong choice. I am having a hard time doing the writing out my meal plans -- then noting how I felt right after I ate. I think i am too busy cleaning up and doing a lot of other things it remember to write about it. Plus, let's face it -- most of my meals have not been very exciting since I started this diet!

I think I'll give the Slimming website a look see. I have always thought that it would not work for me because I have portion control issues.

Morning Alli,

I thought I drop by and wish you a good "Slimming World Day" -- and, of course, a good day overall.

Morning MM!

Thanks - so far so good but it's not even 10am yet ;) Am feeling positive though.

I saw that you are going for a spa day today you lucky girl! I haven't been near a spa in years, unless a trip to the kids section at the local swimming pool counts :D.

Right - better start earning my keep now as I've done nothing of value so far this morning!

Well done Alli on a successful first day. Lol about the poor dog......I bet she was knackered!!! She will be dreading you getting the lead off the hook :D

No such luck unfortunately - she was raring to go again this morning. Had Popster with me this morning as well. Walking both of them to the fields (about 2 minute walk) was a challenge as she has no idea how to walk on a lead yet. Still they had lots of fun wrapping their leads around my legs as I got more and more flustered :D.

I feel really good about SW this week. I don't know what happened but long may it last. I'm trying not to think too far ahead - just taking it one day at a time. I've got a lovely pasta salad sitting next to me and really looking forward to eating it. Once you get going we'll have to have a recipe swap so that we don't get bored eating the same thing over and over. Bess is a brilliant cook (or so I think having never actually eaten her food ;)) so I'm sure she'll be able to come up with delicious free meal suggestions for us all!

Today's pasta salad is just chicken, pasta, veg and red pesto+quark. It's 1.5 syns per serving and totally worth it. YUM!!!:eating:

It's quiet here today! Last week when I was busy with work it was buzzing in here and now that I've got spare time you've all gone busy on me ;)

Hope you are all having fun doing whatever you're doing...Don't worry about me - I'll just stay here and watch the tumbleweeds fly by :wave_cry::D

lol, you're right hun, it has been very quiet for quite a while now. I'm still about though, in between stuff to do at work and I have followed you over to SW online. Got the silver membership. I will start a diary over there and put the link up on my signature here.

xx

Yay! I find it so comforting to have you lot on here for support! I'm planning on sticking around on this forum for as long as I can cause it's a bit more intimate. The SW forums are sooooo busy it's easy to get lost in the crowd.

I can't wait to start fitting in to my slimmer clothes again. All I'm wearing at the moment are dresses as they are stretchy with lots of give in them. I want to fit into my size 12 jeans (a stingy size 12 at that) but I have a good few lbs to lose first. Bought a pair of size 14 in Next at the weekend as I was fed up with leggings. They are fine but won't be upset when they get too big.

Right - I'm off to read a friend's txt as she is complaining about her DH (or not so D at the moment from the preview of her long text) - we have a girls night out planned on Friday - that's the main topic sorted then ;)

Definitely not quite so welcoming over there but hey-ho, we'll have each other and our CD lovelies.

Look at you with loose 14s, soon be in 12s honey :D

Hi Alli and Chels --

I hope you both had good days (it sounds as if you did). CFF and I had a wonderful day out at the spa. I can't wait to go again. I might be able to talk my sister into a spa visit whilst I am in Texas.

MM

Morning Alli, sounds like you are doing well on SW, roll on your size 12 jeans.... I am happy to have just fitted into my size 14s at last, means I can wear my Union Jack DMs at last, always think I look like a "bovver girl" when I wear them with leggings...... ha ha.

Have a great day xx

I'm glad you had a good day at the spa MM! When I get to goal I might get myself booked in to a day spa as a treat.

Morning everyone!

Yesterday was an OK day on SW for me. I ended up eating a couple of crackers outside of my syn allowance - there was no real reason for it other than a sudden craving for salt. Still - I was only about 3 syns out so that's not too bad.

Will aim for 100% today but it's going to be a challenge as DH is out tonight and that's when I normally end up stuffing myself silly with food.

I'm cooking Spagetti Carbonara tonight as the kids love pasta and it's nice and SW friendly. I'll have some salad to go with it to make it a bit healthier. Lunch will be pasta salad again so a very carb heavy day. Oh well...will try and do a red day later this week when I have received my meat delivery from the butchers. Lots of lean meats on order....

I came home from my walk this morning to find that DH had got up and sorted the children out - he'd even made me a coffee . Clearly he is buttering me up for something or other - will no doubt find out at some point :D.

"bovver girl"

@Linda -- What's this?

Hi Alli,

Next time you are craving salt -- get a peice of celery and lightly salt it. It is fab. And, no carbs. In fact I read somewhere that it takes more calories to chew celery than celery has in it! lol

Mel, re: bovver girl. Back in the 60s/70s we had two youth factions in the UK, greasers - who used to look like ZZ Top and ride motorbikes and Skinheads - who had very close-cropped hair, rode scooters (lambrettas/vespas) wore levi jeans, with turn ups so that they were half-way up the legs with huge Doc Martin boots. They were always looking for a fight (bother) and typical cockney-speak, that was changed to bovver.....hence bovver boys and bovver girls. Basically trouble-makers but I am sure Linda is definitely not looking for any bovver here lol lol.

PS, I was a skinhead, levis, ben sherman/brutus shirts. Brut aftershave as a perfume. Short, cropped hair with long feathery bits at the back. Oooh so very attractive :D

:yuk: I'm not falling for that one! I'd rather be a couple of syns over my allowance than crunch on a celery stick!! The *only* time celery is of any use is finely chopped in a risotto / casserole - it should NEVER be eaten raw...;)

Um, well I've bought the Extra Easy recipe book and the dessert one,, so happy to share those with you all! xx
I'm loving SW, feeling really good about it despite my very slow losses, which are entirely my fault, this is a way of eating I can follow for life I think. xx

Well explained Chels, couldn't have done it so well myself....... and no I dont really cause "bovver" (well not much anyway.... ha ha) and I dont have a skinhead either although I was known to have very short hair and certain stages......

Hope today goes well Alli, I totally agree with you about the celery.... yuk yuk yuk..... have a good day xx

Morning Alli,

sounds like you are enjoying your SW plan hun, great!

Hope you had a great 100% day yesterday after, did you find out why hubby was buttering you up or were you just being cynical?

Wishing you a fab sunny 100% day!

xx
