Hi guys, I thought I'd take the plunge and write a food diary!

I started SW 4 weeks ago but have only lost a pound (sob!).

But to be fair I haven't got loads to lose - I'd like to lose a stone in total. Also, I've been having the same breakfast (All Bran with ss milk) for the last few years EVERY DAY so consultant said to try different things, so today for the first time in years I didn't have all bran :eek:

It was scary lol! But I've bought in loads of nice new cereals today from the HE-B choices so I'm actually quite excited to try different things!

Also - I've been doing extra easy but I'd like to throw in some red and green days but I can't get my head around them right now. So if anyone wants to let me know how I could adapt any of my daily meals to make them red or green I'd be ever so grateful! Or maybe they already fit into red/green days :confused: :)

Here's hoping for a 3lb loss next week! :D

Mon 13th June 2011

Breakfast
42g All bran
Semi skimmed milk
Glass of water

Dinner
Large baked potato, frylight, 2 tsp light margarine (2 syns), half tin of baked beans, green salad, m&s sweet chilli chicken mixed with 0 fat natural yogurt and sweetcorn
Sugar free orange cordial

Tea
Pasta, 1.5 tbsn light pesto (3 syns), green beans, potato and salad
Can of fanta zero

Wednesday 15th June

D: Small-medium baked potato, frylight, 2 tsp light margarine (2 syns), half tin of baked beans, green salad, home made waldorf salad (just apple, celery, natural 0 fat yogurt, lemon juice and cinnamon)
T: Jamie Olivers peri peri chicken with reduced fat feta cheese (3 syns) potatoes and salad
Snack: Apple, half a melon, slice of scan bran cake
Drinks: 3 glasses of water, can of fanta zero and glass of sugar free orange cordial
Syns: olive oil in Jamie olivers peri peri chicken = 3
Feta cheese = 3
Scan bran cake = 1
TOTAL syns = 7

Thursday 16th June

B: Oats (HE-B) with 0 fat natural yogurt and banana (yuk – won’t be having this again! But you've got to try these things..)
D: Beans, bacon, scrambled eggs (2 eggs with a dash of ss milk), mushrooms
T: Jamie Olivers peri peri chicken with feta cheese (HE-A) potatoes and salad
Snack: Ryvita wholegrain crackerbread with marmite (2nd part of HE-B), Melon
Drinks: 3 glasses of water, can of fanta zero and glass of sugar free orange cordial
Syns: olive oil in Jamie olivers peri peri chicken = 3


Really recommend Jamie Olivers peri peri chicken recipe - its from his 30 minute meal book. But I'm sure you can find it online by a bit of googling ;) In fact there's a few good SW meals in this book - so tasty too!


Going to try weetabix crunchy bran for breaky tomo, maybe with a bit of fruit?!

I've lost 2lbs since my last post! Changing my breakfasts around worked! Plus I've been going for walk most nights after work - love light nights!



Friday 17th June
Extra Easy
B: Banana and 0 fat natural yogurt
D: SW mini quiches (dead impressed with myself with these!) with salad
T: Spicy pasta bake (a new favourite!) with salad (cheese was HE-A)
Snacks: 2 Alpen light bars (HE-B), Apple, strawberries and reduced fat crème fraiche (2 tbsn = 3)
Drinks: 2 glasses of water, 1 glass of sugar free cordial, can of fanta zero
Syns: Pasta bake = 1, reduced fat crème fraiche (2 tbsn = 3)

Saturday 18th June

B: Weetabix crunchy bran (HE-B) and ss milk (HE-A)
D: 3 SW mini quiches with home made potato wedges, garlic dip (made with garlic salt and o fat natural yogurt) and salad
T: Chinese – half sweet and sour chicken without batter, half beef and mushroom in oyster sauce, half boiled rice and half noodles with beansprouts
Snacks: strawberries and 0 fat natural yogurt
Drinks: 2 glasses of water, 1 glass of sugar free cordial, glass of diet coke
Syns: Chinese = 15

Sunday 19th June

D: Beans, bacon, egg, mushroom, 1.5 sausages and 1 slice of wholemeal toast (HE-B)

T: filo pasty hors d’oeuvre with feta cheese, soup with pancetta (was good and said NO to bread), chicken coq au vin (with 1 fork full of dauphinoise potatoes) with vege, crème brule. Bit of pineapple and strawberry. 1 chocolate after eight type thing.
Drinks: 5-7 glasses of champagne (they kept fillin’ em up :-/), 3-4 glasses of water
Syns: Crème Brule = 17.5, Champayne = 20-28…Too many to imagine but I’m happy with my choices – I said no to the chocolate fountain when my skinny friend was enjoying hers – I just had the fruit! Also happy that I only had 1 hors d’oeuvre and left the bread and dauphinoise potatoes.

Monday 27th June – holiday in lake district for the next 3 nights

B: Bran flakes (HE-B) with ss milk (HE-A), followed by bacon, beans, mushrooms and egg (all SW friendly! So far so good!)
D: Baked potato with spicy bean chilli with salad (salad was covered in oil though L)
T: Pasta genovese (pesto with parmesan), salad, couple of potato wedges dipped in garlic mayo, 1 slice garlic bread (didn’t eat all pasta)
Snacks: Apple, 1 scan bran
Drinks: 3 glasses of water, 3 glasses of diet coke
Syns: spicy bean chilli (2?), oil on salad (2), pesto (9), parmesan (3), potato wedges (3?), slice garlic bread (5), scan bran (1)
Total syns = 25ish

Tuesday 28th June (holiday in lake district )

B: Bran flakes (HE-B) with ss milk (HE-A), followed by bacon, beans, mushrooms and egg (all SW friendly)

D: Baked potato with coronation chicken with salad
T: Pasta in spicy tomato sauce with chicken, parmesan and pepperoni, salad, 1 slice garlic bread. Shared a chocolate torte with mint ice cream – OMG it was divine!
Snacks: Apple, 1 scan bran
Drinks: 3 glasses of water, 3 glasses of diet coke
Syns: coronation chicken = 9?, pasta meal (parmesan 3?, pepperoni – is this really 3.5 syns per slice?? – 21??) = 26 surely not??, ?), half slice garlic bread = 3, half chocolate torte = 10, scan bran = 1
Total syns = 49ish yikes

Wednesday 29th June (holiday in lake district )

B: Bran flakes (HE-B) with ss milk (HE-A), followed by bacon, beans, mushrooms and egg (all SW friendly)

T: Chicken Caesar salad, 1 slice garlic bread, shared chocolate cheesecake
Snacks: Apple, grapes, mini milk ice lolly
Drinks: 5 glasses of water, 2 small glasses of diet coke
Syns: Honey and mustard chicken salad = 5ish for dressing?, mini milk = 1.5, Chicken Caesar salad = 11.5ish, garlic bread = 5, half chocolate cheesecake = 10ish

Total syns = 33ish yikes


Well I'm interested (more like scared to death) of what the scales will say this week! Hoping for a STS!

I am starting back on SW on monday after having lost 3 stone and now gainign most of that back on. I am liking your food diary, can u tell me how the Weetabix crunchy bran was? I am thinking of getting some this weekend for next week. Also do u make the SW quiche yourself?
How have you been getting on?

Hi there!

I like the crunchy bran - and you get quite a lot for your healthy b too - 42grams!

Yep I made the SW quiche myself. This was what I used:

250g cottage cheese
3 eggs
Broccoli
4 slices bacon
1 onion

Par-boil broccoli, cook bacon, cook onion.
Mix cottage cheese and egg – put salt and pepper in.
Mix everything together and put into 6 bun tins. Put pepper on top.
Gas mark 6 – middle shelf for 30 mins
Result – were really nice! Might try adding some parsley in next time and a bit more salt.[FONT=&quot][/FONT]

God I'm dreading what the scales are going to say tomorrow after being on holiday! But will carry on regardless - going to try some red days starting from tomorrow to see if that helps the weight come off a bit quicker. Congrats on losing the 3 lbs - that's like me, I lost 3lb on WW about 3 years ago and I've put on just over a stone. So just trying to get that off again! When was you last on SW?

Well I've lost all my holiday weight already! Happy with that! Now want to lose a stone by my next hols in September - easy peasy! ;)

Half beef in oyster sauce (2.5)
Boiled rice (free)
Syns: hash brown = 1.5, sausage = 4.5?, margarine = 1, Chinese = 7.5
