Right, that's it! I tried on a new dress this morning. Size 30. I've been living in Leggings for well over a year now and just hadn't realised how much my weight had spiralled.
In January I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. I was the same weight at the end of the delivery as I was at the start of pregnancy. I was really pleased. But 20st5 has now increased to 23st6 in just 9 months. I blame my wonderful husband kindly picking up a lot of the cooking (usually of the Ping or pick up school of cookery) and all the wonderful goodies friends have brought me. Absolutely nothing to do with the fact I ate the lot!
I have always struggled with my weight. At 10years old I weighed 10stone and was put on my first diet. I've only ever been less than 14st once and that was in 2009 after losing 100lb on LL.
my incentive was to have a baby and also improve my mobility. I'm a wheelchair user since an accident in 2006. My legs don't work. After I lost the weight I was told that my husband and I wouldn't be able to have a baby and also my vision of springing up out of my chair and walking again just didn't happen. So I thought sod it and piled the weight on again.
Four years and ten stone later here I am.
If I don't change things now I won't be around for my boy. I'll be one of those people who can't leave the house. I'm already squeezed into my wheelchair which is not good.
So, two shakes down and I'm ok, if a little short tempered. There's nothing like a wilful baby to make you want to eat. I will have to be careful it doesn't affect my lad and weaning. He pretty much eats anything but I'll have to make sure I don't pick on his stuff and that my diet doesn't affect him.
Yesterday I got some very sad news. A lovely friend of mine has passed away from cancer. It goes to show there's just no time to waste being miserable. You have to make the most of what you have and get on with it.
I nearly fell at the first hurdle this morning at Costa but I didn't, I stuck to it and I'm proud of that.
I'm looking forward to getting into it and seeing results. There's so much inspiration on this forum, I think everyone's amazing with their focus.
Let the journey commence, Onwards and downwards !
