I am new to Atkins, but not to ketosis as I have spent the last 10 months (unintentionally) maintaining by re-re-re-restarting a VLCD diet. Last week I decided that I couldn't do another Day 1 - I'd get to about 4pm, be starving, and decide that I wasn't that overweight anyway and had to eat , so it almost inevitably led to a binge. I suppose it felt like trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer, so the logical move was to Atkins. My book hasn't arrived yet but this forum has provided me with a wealth of information and I'm now on Day 3 of Induction, one happy bunny . I knew I had been missing food, cooking, in fact chewing , but I think my relationship with food was getting worse, not better. The VLCD did serve me well, at the time I started I needed a complete break from food and I lost 2 1/2 stone. But I knew I needed a life-long plan and Atkins seems to be the one that suits me.
Anyway, sorry for rambling introduction, your forum seems to be a friendly place (I recognize quite a few names from Exante and LL!), I'm in and out all the time looking for information, inspiration and RECIPES!!!
