any advise to regain control ?

#1
I dont know what to do or where to go from here ... I started 1000 plan on monday as I have 14 lb to goal and have started going to the gym so need to start adding more calories .. but since monday I have lived on biscuits and cakes , and the odd slice of toast  I have totally lost control and am really struggling to get it back .
I have gained 6 lb and today have managed to just have 2 shakes , but I cannot go on in this binge , starve ( SS) cycle I have to try and control this greedy glutton that I have become and other than locking myself up in a padded room I dont know how :cry:

I darent tell my CDC as she will be really disappointed , i need to try and loose as muh of this gain as I can before I see her on monday so that means SSing again , which I dont want to , but I feel I have to

I am waiting for my opy of the Beck book , but I know the therory , I just cant seem to control what I do

there is no way I can EVER give up as it has taken so much effort to get to this point but CD is taking over my life in a bad way and I cant see the way out ... help :wave_cry:

Hun, of course you must talk to your CDC, that is what she is there for and there is no way she would be disappointed. If she is worth her salt, she will be understanding, sympathetic and desperate to help you. Please get in touch with her and see if she can see you sooner rather than on Monday and you can discuss your options with her. I can totally relate to where you are coming from, having got to within 9lbs of my goal in 2009 and then went 'mental' and once I started, I couldn't stop. The situation is not irretrievable, the worse thing you can do is to panic and call yourself a failure or whatever.

Sometimes, we can be just as scared of success as we can of failure and the fact that you are so close to goal, after having lost so much, can panic you a bit and make you want to be back in the 'comfort' zone of being big.

CD won't take over your life, just a few more weeks of moving up the plans and then to maintenance and before you know it, you will be eating normally, maintaining your goal weight and CD will be history, although not the lessons learned along the way.

Good luck and contact your CDC tonight, if you can.

xx

Do you have the 1000 plan booklet. If you do follow the menus and plan in it exactly, dont think you can make up your own 1000 plan, but use that as a step by step guide to get back on plan. Your CDC is there to help you when you fall, she has seen people lose and gain weight before and she should really be helping you here to stay on track, so dont be worried about telling her. You have done wonderfully well so far, dont let your fear of her knowing throw you off track, contact her now!!

Hi Katie - I read this yesterday and meant to post a reply but work took over. I'm sorry you are struggling with the 1000 plan. To be honest, I found it the hardest plan of all as it's the first plan that allows a little flexibility.

Since you are now used to a rigid food plan I would suggest that you simply make the 1000 plan rigid by introducing your own rules. I can't remember the details of the plan but if it says unsweetened cereal - decide on which types you allow etc.

Also, make a food plan every day so that you decide in advance what to eat and don't allow yourself to stray from that plan. Tick off the food as you've eaten it, and if you do eat something unplanned make sure you write it down. Don't keep cakes / sweets at home at all. Don't use the excuse that your family needs them - no one needs junk food!

I don't keep anything like that in my house at the moment while I'm trying to lose weight and tomorrow I will take the children to the bakery to choose a cake each for elevenses rather than buying a packet from the supermarket. It might seem like a pricy option but since I would eat the remainder of the packet anyway it's not really.

I have planned in a Curly Wurly tonight and walked to our local shop a short while ago to buy it - that's my Friday treat but even if I wanted something else I haven't got anything else so I can't cheat - simples ;)

Basically don't set yourself up to fail by surrounding yourself with food you find tempting. Think about your "weak" moments and figure out a strategy for how you will cope without eating during these times and you will be fine. Don't expect perfection though - if you do slip up, get up, brush yourself off and keep on going!

EDIT - forgot to say :happy096: well done on your weight loss!! You're brilliant!

thankyou so much everyone :D

I managed to get back on 810 on thurday and have regained control and then I will restart 1000 on monday , a total fresh start :)

I have started reading The Beck Diet solution and already feel I have some strategies to help me keep the control I have on the lower plans , i also have the work book whic I will start filling in on monday and have bought a diary to use as a food diary . I will plan my full days meals the day before and not deviate at all .. I am sure if i can stick to SS and 810 I can stick to 1000 too :)

My CDC text me today and I told her what ha been happening and she was very supportive and gave some good advise and I feel much happier now .. wish me luck :D

Good Luck, but with the plans you have in place you probably won't need it!

Well done, I am so pleased you contacted your CDC. It is so tempting to just hide it all away and stay stuck on that downward spiral. You'll be fine hon x
