Any dog lovers out there?

i have a beautiful rescue dog, best guess is a staffi, springer cross
she is fast and solid but very loving.

She is messier than either my two kids but is most definetly my baby now:confused:

my kids reckon i have replaced them with her. I am always telling them its because she loves me unconditionally and is always pleased to see me :D:D:D:D

We have had her nearly 3 yrs and she was 10 months old when we got her.
i genuinely can't imagine life without her :eek:

Your dogs are all so lovely, its great to see pics of them too. Keep em coming !:)

I have a boxer and a mini dachshund. The dachs had a litter of puppies a couple of years ago, but it wasnt plane sailing. (Ill post pics of the dachs pups later)

On the night she was in labour I stayed up with her all night, cuddling her and encouaging her to use the whelping box. She was restless and whimpering ( this is normal birthing behavior) and about 6am we both fell asleep on the sofa, when I woke up Bella had disappeared.

I ran into the kitchen to find her racing in through the cat/dog flap followed by an umbilical cord then the sac with a pup inside it ! She was running through the kitchen with the pup bouncing behind her. I was as you can imagine terrified but then managed to cut the cord with a kitchen knife and broke open the sac which had a perfect pup inside it. :):):) We were so lucky it ended so well. After bedding her down she went on to deliver another two pups.

She did have another litter eighteen months later but this time we took her to the vet when she starting whelping. We collected mum and two puppies at twelve midnight. They do say second pregnancies are easier.:)

I can sooo agree with you. My mum reckons Coco is the daughter I never had!! She really is my baby and I cannot bear the thought of anything happening to her. Think it probably is because I have 2 sons that are 19 and 13 and hubby so outnumbered by the men. Also I had her when I was really ill and she was only tiny 7 weeks old - I deffo think she helped me get better and made me laugh again.
I do think she was too young to be away from her mum. When I cuddled her as she was sleeping I would see her little mouth/Tongue still going through the suckling motions - sooo sad!! She's been in our bed ever since - there's no way she was staying on her own lol

Are any of you like me, and soft enough to let the dog sleep with you at night?
Mine is happy to sleep in her bed any other time, but when it comes to bedtime - up she jumps.

Yes! lol Mine wait at the bottom of the bed, just to make sure I'm going to get in and not change the duvet :D As soon as they know I'm getting in, they're up before I'm actually in! LOL That's followed by 10 mins of shuffling and nudging as they jostle to a place nearest to me! LOL

Yes- mine sleeps firmly inbetween the two of us. We shall soon have to rename her "Contraception".

Awww I can't imagine life without mine either. Infact I think I prefer dogs to children  :giggle: They're always pleased to see us, they don't answer back, they don't nick your last SW friendly treats .........it's a long list! LOL

OMG! I think I would have died on the spot! I know I would have just 'got on with it' and done what needed to be done, but my flipping heart would have been in my mouth!

Good to hear you had a happy ending :D

Awww so cute :D I tried the hat thing with mine, but they were having none of it! lol

I must put some pics of my dogs on. It's really hard getting good pictures of them though because as soon as I point a camera at either of them, they run off like I'm pointing a gun at them of something! :giggle:

Corkscrew......so made me laugh - I never seem to have camera to hand for those Kodak moments and when I do all you see is a fleeing fur ball!! Grrrrr
