Anyone here from Atkins?

Hi

2 weeks ago I started Atkins on the induction phase, I lost 8 pounds in 5 days then gained 1.5 back in the next 8 days without ever breaking my diet! So I have decided to calorie count as there is no point continuing a diet I am gaining weight on.

Is anyone else here from Atkins/ low carb? If so did you gain weight when you changed back to normal carbs?

Haven't done Atkins but I'd guess your best bet is to reintroduce your carbs slowly and stay away from 'white' carbs at first!! Good luck ;)

Hi newfate - I did a vegetarian version of Atkins and now CC. I know carbs are a problem food for me so aim to limit them - I rarely have carbs after lunch - sugar carbs are worth watching out for - cereals and yoghurts in particular. I do need to reduce a bit more as eating bread again and that's an issue.

I only put my Atkins weightloss back on when pregnant - it's getting a balance so CC with some of what you learnt on Atkins but without the extremes!

Hope that helps - love to read how you get on as I'm similar in trying to get a healthy but lower carb CC diet!?!

I was with Atkins a couple of years ago but I now have stage 3 CKD & have read that a high protein, low carb' diet is not advisable. I also actually prefer calorie counting - it's easier.
