Anyone tried Kelp??

Hey there all!
I was in the health food shop today and was moaning to the owner how hard im finding it to lose weight explaining what ive tried and how long for etc. Anyway he said it sounds like slow metabolism and I should try kelp apparently its fab for metabolism.
Anyone tried it?

Never tried it but I do know that kelp contains iodine which is required to keep the thyroid healthy. A sluggish thyroid usually means you gain weight easily.

I tried it a while ago, it shortened my menstrual cycle (sorry if that's TMI??) which indicated it was definitely speeding things up, trouble is lab studies show that animals with the fastest metabolisms have the shortest natural lifespans, and since I lean towards an interest in calorie restriction for health & longevity (as well as weight control etc) that looked like a side effect I could do without.

YMMV and all that, that's just my experience & opinion so far. ;)
