arthurs day!!!

sorry but .....
..... What's Arthur's Day ??
..... Who's Arthur ??

if it involves having a drink though i think i like them already :D

Arthur's Day is a new thing in Ireland that started last year..it's a day to celebrate Arthur Guinness, a massively successful promotion idea by Guinness people. There are loads of bands playing all over the country and unsurprisingly a lot of people out drinking a lot of alcohol..right craic..if you're lucky enough to be able to go out! :p

So, not content with St Patricks day, Guiness came up with a new ploy...

Lol, I don't recall whether it was last year or earlier, but I do remember the Guiness adverts "Here's to Arthur!" I just presumed it was a funny advert...I didn't realise they'd taken it the whole hog over in Ireland!

Actually it started in 2009 as it was the 250th anniversary of guinness. Its not just celebrated in ireland either. People are meant to raise a glass "to arthur" at 17:59 (a reference to the year 1759). Its more a musical event than anything else. Meh... I'm irish and I didn't celebrate it lol.
