Ive just bought a carton of Asda strawberry and banana smoothie it also has grape juice and orange juice in it - it states that its made from 100% fruit and the juice in it is 'not from concentrate' - theres only fruit listed as the ingredients and there is nothing else added to it either such as sugar - would this therefore be zero pro points? :D
Would be good if it is as it looks yummy!

I've just found this in my 'shop' book and its 3 pro points per 200ml glass - Im confused - if Id have made this myself using the fruits listed in it then it would have been 0 points?

Fruit juice still has points in it, even if it's pure fruit juice.

I don't know absolutely, but think this is because you're only meant to have up to your 5 portions of fruit a day, after that it should be pointed. So if the smoothie has over 5 portions of fruit in it, any extra will be pointed. And when you start pointing fruit it can be quite high, particularly stuff like grapes that are high in natural sugars!

Its because whole fruits contain a lot of fibre - juice them and it doesn't so won't fill you up the same and your body doesn't process is the same way.

Fruit juices definitely aren't 0pp, unfortunately. It isn't 0pp even if you juiced it yourself too though. Still good for you though, just count it into your points and enjoy! :-D

Thanks for the replies - I've given it to my daughter! Smells lovely - may have a small glass tonight if I have any points left over! ;)
