Atkins bars

Guilty! But check the back of them as some of them have a load of sugar although saying that I recently learned that Cambridge products have 14 grams of the stuff anyway so not much difference on that front!

Just like Cambridge's "chewy" bars, they appear at first glance to have lots of carbs in - but most of the carb count is in fact in fibre form called polyols. Neither Atkins bars or Cambridge bars are full of sugar, though there's probably more sugar in Cambridge bars to be quite honest. :) That's because Cambridge isn't really a very low carb diet plan, it's a very low calorie plan that coincidentally only contains a moderate amount of carbs.

But sugar's not the issue here. By all means have the occasional Atkins bar if you get caught out, leave your shake at home, that kind of thing. Though frankly, you'd probably be better off finding a supermarket and buying a packet of chicken and a prepacked salad (and having your missed shake when you get home).

Atkins bars aren't designed to be total meal replacements. Cambridge bars are - they contain a third of your daily nutritional needs. Atkins bars are no substitute for the real thing.
