yesterday i got an email from the place i ordered the thing for my recipient, saying out of stock, took them long enough to let me know! so an alternative sent off this morning, please mr postie go man go!
i'm a bit miffed, number 1 item was so cool!

I know - I posted mine over a week ago, and no word of it arriving yet. Panicking!!!

Just heard on the radio that the Post Office said they would make every effort to get the "huge backlog" of presents delivered by Xmas - how I laughed...which year do we think they mean? And they charge a fortune - my mate sent me a big parcel for Xmas, cost her $20NZ (about £10), I sent her a much smaller one, £42!!!!

Still nothing here, I thought it had arrived but turns out it was from a friend when I read the return lable, 4lbs of genuine proper black pudding from Bury Lancashire, widely reputed to be the best in the world.

Yes indeed,

He'd picked up on a reference by me on the Army board, moaning that you can't get decent black pudding here in the Midlands, and seeing as he lives in Whitefield near Bury he nipped out and bought me some, that's comradeship for you, he couldn't face the thought of me having to do without over Christmas.
