Bad Day 1

    So my first day has gone badly. I stuck 100% to the shakes but I am in terrible form and trying to get work done for Uni and I just wanted to sit down with my hubbie and have a nice tea. Thankfully I didn't give in but I have been crying all evening. I just feel the stress of Uni and a 7 month old and now doing this got on top of me.

    Hopefully tomorrow will be better :)

    How long does it normally take to get into ketosis?

    Heya Popple,
    PLEASE dont give in.. the first few days are quite tough but it really DOES get easier, I cannot explain that enough.. it just does. Trust us all, if it were that bad then we would all be here today... many more will pop along and agree with me...!!!!
    The feelings of wanting to share a meal will pass, your mood will pick up so you wont struggle with the baby.. it will all fall in to place... if you feel bad now imagine how bad you would feel if you trhew in the towel and allowed your weight to control you...!! Thats how I remembered it all and how I stayed on track.. its not easy, no, but its do-able... a fair few nights I was going to bed at 8pm to avoid thinking about food... now it doesnt bother me and I seriously look forward to a lovely shake (made with a sweetener at night for my sweet tooth and in the blender and its LUSH!!!).... I am only on day 13 and I have been fine for quite a while! :)

    I have 3 kids aged 2, 4 & 13, loadsa pets, a H2B and loads of other crap going on that I wont bore you with - if I can do it then anyone can, trust me!!

    Hang in there and this board is a HUGE support.. I pop on here every single night and it passes time for me and I love chatting 'on topic' and finding out more about my new diet secret....!!

    chin up and dont back down, it does get easier xxxx

    oh and I was in full ketosis at the end of day 2 - i didnt have any carbs the day before I began this plan tho so in theory it could have been day 3 had I had carbs... hth xx

    Welcome and good luck with your weight loss. It varies per person but it took me 5 days to get into ketosis and I've had bad heachaches for 3 days. It's hard if your partner eats normally, I'm very lucky as both me and my hubby are on LT. Be strong, come on here if you need advice or need to rant and we will be there for you. xxx

    I did find it hard initially.. being up at 6am making lunchboxes and food for 4 people was hard, the brekkie... and dinner was awful. You cant even sample your own cooking to season it.. stuff like that. BUT I dont miss any of that now... at first I thought this could never ever work past one WI... but its become a new sense of norm now and when they eat I clean up... my ktchen has never been so clean! If I sit, I think... so I keep going and it gets me thru..... you will also find your own way with it all :)

    Ah thanks so much for the responses everyone. I am feeling much better now. I am starving so I am going to head to bed and look forward to waking up for my first shake of day 2!
