Barb's going at it a little differently!

Way to go Barb sounds like you had a lovely weekend and 30 lenghts in the pool well done.
Am sure your going to see -2lbs tomorrow good luck xx

Heya Barb,
That break through is great, socialising has always been your mini-downfall in the past, and you've been doing so well inspite of it, so imagine how much better you'll do if you don't feel like you need the wine. I think that says as much about your new found confidence as it does about your new motivation. It's great :)

I'm sure you're going to have a fab WI tomorrow ;)
Are you doing measurements too? If you're starting to build your way up to 30 lengths, that probably means that you'll start putting on muscle, which is heavy. So don't forget to judge on how you feel, not just what you weigh :)

well done you on socialising, without the need to join in wih calorific treats! Smart choice offering ham salad etc, and it only shows that everyone can have a nice social outing without blowing all the hard work :)
I've always associated eating with good times :D....but fattening food ...now after all these years, i'm finally realising i could have a nice night out without feeling the need to swallow everything on the menu!!!! :D

Fingers still tighty crossed for you tommorow :)

OMG!!!!!!!! 3lbs! That's 20 gone forever. Can't believe it, have worked so hard at it this week and what a reward.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement, Size 16 really made me smile, knowing that my result is being waited for! Fantastic.

I am just floating about on cloud 9 here, I'm doing this, I'm really doing it.

Pink that is a good point about the muscle, I wish I had taken measurements but I didn't. But my clothes are beginning to really hang off me, DH said this morning 'that t'shirt has turned into a dress on you!'

Oh, it is just so exciting, I can't believe it, I really can't.

Well done you deserve it so much, might take a leaf out of your book and search back through your thread to see what you are eating.

If you get chance would you post a few ideas on what your meals ar elike x

Size 16 I am basically keeping it simple. Breakfast (which I have never bothered with in the past!) is two slices of nimble bread toasted, scrape of low fat spread and a little jam. Mid morning, small banana or yogurt, lunch is a salad, every day. Ham/egg/cheese/prawn - whatever I have in the fridge really, I like to chop up a cold new potato or two in it but don't have any bread. Then i have a few cherries or strawberries afterwards. Then i don't tend to eat anything till dinner time. Dinner is generally a stir fry with basmati steamed rice. I chuck chilli sauce in to up the flavour and lots of veg with either chicken or prawns. Then if I am hungry in the evening I will have a yogurt. I am buying 'Nom' yogurts which are zero fat and very tasty, especially the mango ones. Only 70ish cal but taste like more.

I think it is keeping my meals 'samey' that is helping - I don't spend long thinking about it, breakfast is always toast, lunch is always salad, means I know what i'm having automatically.

Hope that helps,

That's fantastic news Barb!! Blimey I have some catching up to do ;)

I'm with you on the 'samey' thing by the way. I really don't need a different breakfast every single morning - I'm quite happy with my sachet of Oats so Simple Porridge (made with water). Quick, easy and I know where I am with it.

Well done - you so deserve the rewards you're getting now xx

Well done Barb!!

I'm so pleased you had another loss... 3lbs is great, just goes to show that if you work hard, you will see the results.

Best of luck for this week xx

FANTASTIC Barb!!!!! :)

So pleased for you, your happiness is shining through your posts :)

Yes you ARE doing it, never forget that!!! and pat on the back to an observant hubby who notices and says the right things! :)

Your sensible eating plan and all the swimming is paying off big style, well done you, what a star!

Now onto another successful week :)

Thanks everyone, still pottering about with a daft grin on my face.

Been swimming and aqua today and feeling good.

Barb!!!! That's freaking amazing! Especially considering that you've been losing consistently for a while now, usually it slows down, you must be working really hard and being really dedicated. I'm dead chuffed for you :) I really am, I remember reading your diary before and you'd get so down because you hadn't lost anythign in weeks, and now POW, you're on fire. It shows what you can do when you buck up your motivation and find something that you enjoy.

Keep it up love, we'll all be here cheering for you :)

Thanks Emz, you are so right, it is finding the right formula that does it. Who even knew that swimming would be such a boost for me?

I can hear you cheering me on and it is so wonderful. I am very lucky to have so many people supporting me, it really does make all the difference.

Way to go Barb 3lbs is great news all that swimming is definetly helping with all the hard work your putting in it will be no time before you reach your goal :)
Keep it up hun have a great day xx

Just back from swimming. Only 26 lengths today as have a nasty old headache. Still feeling very chuffed and I thought today that if next week's weigh in was an STS I would be ok with that, I would accept good weeks balance out with not so good! How grown up is that! Still hoping for 1 off next week though, of course. Just don't have that desperate feeling, know I am doing the right things so all will be good.
