Beef stew recipe?

Was just wanting to throw everything in my slow cooker but I'm not sure if it will thicken up. I'm thinking of using , stewing beef , barley, carrots, onion, knorr beef stock pot . Do you think it will turn out ok. X

I'm just jumping in on this thread (no knowledge of how you make stew at all...I just know that I like it) but if anyone could give a recipe with quantities for beef/mince stew I'd be very grateful!

here are a few from my recipe blog (I would use less liquid though, when doing in a slow cooker, probably half the amount)
