Beegee's Green Day Diary

Blimey, I've had 3 crumpets today. Only used 7g of jam though. Apparantly 18g = 1pp so does that mean I don't even have to count it?! I've also had a little cake bar thing for 2pp. So, day 1 complete and I'm happy to do the same again tomorrow. I'm not entirely sure how I'll lose weight on this, but I've seen enough inane posts in the SW forum called things like 'does this really work?' to know that I need to trust the plan and hope for the best! Here's to day 2!

HI BEEGEE I WOULD STILL COUNT IT AS 1PP THESE LITTLE BITS SOON ADD UP AND WOULDN'T WANT YOU TO NOT LOSE WEIGHT ON THE PLAN  I'VE JUST HAD SOME SALAD CREAM IT WAS 1PP FOR 2 TBS BUT I ONLY HAD 1 TBS BUT STILL COUNTED IT AS 1PP. I WENT MAD ON CRUMPETS TO BEGIN WITH (JUST BECAUSE I COULD LOL) I HAD GOLDEN SYRUP ON THEM YUUUUUMMY JUST THOUGHT HOW CAN YOU HAVE SOOO LITTLE AMOUNT OF JAM ON THEM I WOULD HAVE USED HALF THE JAR HA HA (AND NO I'M NOT JOKING ) HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PLAN HAVE A GREAT DAY XX 540 big happy.gif

So true about the crumpets and tinned fruit! I was a bit in love with crumpets last week and got pretty excited yesterday about cracking open a tin of fruit cocktail lol how sad!

Bit of a dangerous one but I discovered as well as normal crumpets, scotch crumpets are free too! Eek that's free yummy thin PANCAKES basically! Must NOT go crazy with them or will be losing no weight at all.

Tbh I got online membership only because there was a cashback deal on but I don't feel like I really need it! With simply filling most of the food is from the free list anyway so you only really need it to point your treats and extras. I tend to use the same ones most of the time so know them, and anything else I can use the calculator for or search online. If you need any help checking anything just ask! :) x

Haha I'll set up a business shipping them to weight watchers down south hehe ;-)

Some of the big brands like kingsmill and warburtons do scotch crumpets too so u might be able to source them down south. They are really common up here though all bakery's and supermarkets sell them :) x

I love crumpets - but with lashings of butter!!

Only the one crumpet today (so far ;)), but also a couple of slices of WW bread. I've taken your advice Val and counted a point for jam - better safe than sorry! Today has been:

B: Shredded wheat, milk, fruit, yogurt

L: Jacket potato, cottage cheese, pineapple

Snacks: Crumpet, 2 slices WW bread, jam / honey (1pp)

D: Pasta bake with mozarella (3pp)

May have something else in a bit, but hopefully not. Maybe just a coffee.

Today's thoughts have been -
- I went out for a coffee with the girls today and it was nice to have a skimmed milk latte without worrying about counting it.
- Re pasta - the bake was lovely but it was a pain cooking one type of pasta for me and one type for hubby (suppose I didn't totally have to, but he's not as keen on the wholemeal and it's also a lot more expensive so I don't want to waste it on him!)
- I miss my yogurts! I don't really want to use 2 pp's on one but ideally I would rather snack on them than a slice of bread and I think it would be better for me
- I miss my convenience foods a bit and don't feel very inspired menu-wise. It's much easier to shove a packet of savoury rice in the microwave but I do appreciate that I'm making better choices by not having them
- Lastly, I'm a bit annoyed to have to use points on cheese!

When all's said and done though, I'm still enjoying the change and am happy to do another day tomorrow.

Yeh I didn't think I would miss cheese but I do the using points on it!

The weight watchers yoghurts are all 1 point I think and the layered fromage frais ones are gorgeous really thick and creamy none of this watery mullerlight rubbish ;-) does suck a bit using points on them but I only ever have one a day so no big deal. X

The WW ones have gelatine in though don't they (or has that changed?!) I'm strict veggie so only have Shape or Activia ones. I miss them !

Never mind the yogurts though, I am currently in Petits Pain heaven. Finally got round to making soup and oh lordy, freshly cooked bread with it - what a treat!! I'll be near a Poundland on friday, I hope they have them in stock or I'll be inconsolable. Good job I only cooked 2 of them or I would have scoffed the whole pack pronto. I also had some tinned fruit which was nice, it is much easier to eat than proper fruit isn't it, I can see why SW don't 'allow' it. I'm still enjoying WW at the mo and am thinking about doing it next week too . May change my mind after another couple of days without much cheese and yogurt though I suppose ...

Just went and checked my ww yoghurts and they are definitely suitable for vegetarians :) might need to check all the flavours before you buy but don't see why one kind wouldn't have gelatine and others would.

I try to avoid gelatine as much as possible but if I accidentally eat something without checking I don't beat myself up about it, so glad the yoghurts are veggie! Though I did have a bit of a dilemma the other week when I tried a coconut Greek miller (non veggie) and it was amazing! :-( x

Actually had look online as was intrigued, seems the ww yoghurts have gelatine but the layered fromage frais which is what I have been buying are fine for veggies. Bonus as they are really tasty! X

Ah - excellent tip then! Will look out for the fromage frais as they sound good. Thanks for checking hun x

So, I've found another positive about WW - Chickpea Dahl is free!! I know this is probably not that exciting to most people but as I have several tins in the cupboard and it is a convenience food this is great news! I had a tin for tea with brown rice and veg and it was just like being on SW. I decided to have a treaty nibble with a coffee this evening and had almost got a cereal bar out of the cupboard when it dawned on me that a Penguin was the same number of points so I had one of them instead. So, today's bread count is 2 petit pains and 1 crumpet which isn't too bad and 4pp's - I'm happy with that.

Ooh I love chickpea Dahl didn't think to check it :-D love it on baked potato! Yum x

hi beegee i thought i would pop in and see how ur doing u seem to be getting on great with sf i love being able to have the petit pains it really is like having something naughty (how sad am i 490ha ha ha.gif)

Hows the ww week been Beegee :) ?

Pretty good I think Gobolino. I've stuck to it fine and haven't felt hungry for any length of time and I think I could probably do another week of it. I've enjoyed having a few different things to eat and although I've chosen (for instance) a 2 finger Kit Kat rather than a cereal bar which isn't necessarily great, when I look at my food lists for the day I don't think I've gone completely OTT on new exciting things. I've also tried to stick very closely to my SW menus so that it's easy to switch back again.

Thanks for the Tesco shopping news Kwise, I've got an order coming on monday so will add some bits to it. I did however get a bit of a WW haul in Poundland today - 2 big boxes of the WW cookies, 3 packets of bagels and 1 of pitta bread  I'm going to have to stick to it for a bit longer, the syns in that lot don't bear thinking about!

Today has been:

Porridge, banana, mango, pineapple

Jacket potato, beans, salad, spicy quorn bites (2pp). Strawberries

2 crumpets with marmite

Bean and quorn chilli with brown rice

I've also had to use 2pp on semi skimmed milk as I've been having teas and coffees out and there wasn't any skimmed. I do like having unmeasured skimmed milk, it's a definite WW plus point. I may spend another 2pp in a minute on one of my new biscuit packs.

Thanks for all your interest and advice girls, I've enjoyed my week and you've all helped me no end xx

I did however forget to mention the major downside of WW for me though which is far from losing weight I'm gaining at a rather alarming rate  My last SW weigh in I was 76.9kg, I'm now 77.7!! As it takes me an eternity to lose that much weight I'm starting to panic slightly...

Oh no hope it comes off again for weigh in! Despite most people getting a great loss their first week I gained 1lb!! X

Belive in the plan and no sneaky peaking !!! I'm sure over a two week period there will definitely be a loss there ;)
