Big Boys Need Love Too!

sounds like the best place to spill it to me gem :D i am not going to see my cdc this week either. i'm been counting the pennies and i can't justify the cost, with the boiler really really needing fixing now. thomas did manage to get it started again this morning but last night was chilly!!! two double duvets were required to keep us toasty, ha.

but i am thinking of signing up for the gym this weekend and going swimming too. i need to combat all the food i've been eating with exercise, and stop eating sweeties!! i am not feeling quite so self destructive this morning so hopefully i can get a grip :) and make eating an enjoyable and healthy experience rather than just shoving food in my face.

have just had a bowl of muesli with thomas (who is now complaining about the fact he has just eaten more fibre than he usually does in a week, probably shouldn't watch that space) and am having a lovely cuppa :)

Nothing wrong with a bit of fibre - I have loads of it and it's good x

mine brought me muesli and tea. gotta love the menfolk :) even if i wasn't in bed at the time i am still wrapped in a duvet waiting for the house to warm up :D

ha. thomas cooks for me when he cooks, but he's developed a liking of just eating sandwiches of which i don't approve :D

I just cooked my lunch but Mr Taz wasn't hungry so he can sort himself out later. Have a look in my diary Abz, more food porn!

Morning all, I am up bright and early for no particular reason. I have to be at the gym for 12.30 for my personal program but I would really like to get a proper session in too as I am going out to dinner tonight and am already on for a gain this week! I just need to find something to do with Mr Taz while I am there!

Good morning everyone :)

It's a dull looking day south of cyberspace this morning and very cold :gen125:

I am not sure what I'm gonna do with my day today but will probably go for a walk later (all wrapped up warm). This evening we are going out for a meal to celebrate my birthday - yes, I'm officially even older than I was yesterday!

Have a great Sunday everyone :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEM :D D

i don't know what i'm going to do with today either. i am going to have more control foodwise. that i am certain of. i still can't afford to go back on cd, and i need to eat for my painkillers, but it's low cal all the way. in fact i am thinking of starting out with healthy readymeals (if that isn't a contradiction in terms) with loads of veg so that i know exactly what the calorie count in things is... also quite fancy joining the gym but i hurt a lot, so i'm not sure whether it's a good idea. we'll see how i go though :)

Abz - with the exercise thing it depends on whether the muscles are in spasm as to whether it will help or hinder. If they ARE in spasm then it is not going to help to push them further. Feel if the area is hot or cold. If it is cold apply a heat pad, if hot cool it down with a cold pad x

exercise does help it gem because otherwise over time i lose mobility and it gets worse. exercise helps remind my back of it's correct positioning. basically it isn't the sciatica that causes most of my problems. it's the way i end up walking, moving and sleeping to accomodate it. i use a hot water bottle on it and i take hot baths when it's really bad. but the most important thing is to keep moving. otherwise i stop being able to... it's the only good thing the physio managed to do for me.

That's good news Abz - I do pilates for the posture thing. I've been master of compensating for pain - so much so that I have a tendancy to "lordosis" so I really have to work on strengthening my core and neutral spine and all that. I think I know where you are coming from x

Oh Abz stay away from the ready meals! They may be low cal but they are packed full of salt and will contribute to water retention. They are ok for odd occassions but not for regular consumption. Get loads of raw ingredients and make the meals yourself, they will taste much better and be way more healthy
