    Hey,

Does anyone know a BMI calculator that shows you an image of the body too?

I remember using one, but would like to see what my ideal weight looks like!

Well hun it varies a lot, because body fat also matters (even more than bmi).
Body builders are "morbidly obese" according bmi but don't look like that:p
Also, body shape - pear, apple, hourglass - also make a lot of difference in what we perceive as normal or overweight.

Anyway, I know about two sites where there are tons of pics of different peopple in the same categories that look very dfferent.

Illustrated BMI Categories - a set on Flickr

    Photographic Height/Weight Chart

As you can see, the same bmi can look very different from person to person :)

    xx

    Ah that's great!

There's a site for women called "my virtual model" that gives a really basic idea and lets you play about with the image to try and get it exact.

I have to say when I spoke with my Dr about BMI he told me I should ignore it really as the system was quite old and today people's body mass differes depending upon how much muscle they have, bone density etc... a body fat measuring system is a much more accurate one.

According to BMI my 12 stone slender brother is to heavy :s
