Briar Rose's Journey!

Well Im beginning my journey on Exante after finding this forum. Ive been lurking for a while and reading up on all the success stories on this diet.

I had started weight watchers in January but after the initial big loss I was only loosing a lb a week and then if I went out I would only have to go over by a little bit and put 2 back on. I just couldn't see me carrying on as I was the same weight last week that I was in January so getting nowhere fast.

I am off on holiday in the summer and theres no way I will enjoy it whilst being this big. I started this 6 days ago and so far so good. Well its been really hard so far but with a great hubby who has been cooking all the kids teas I haven't done so bad. I hope Im over the worst as the headaches seem to be easing and Im not constantly thinking of food like I was.

I originally wanted to do the working solutions version but decided to do at least the first 2 weeks total and see if I get a big loss to start me off. I have read that a lot of people do ws for a few days a week so that might work for me.

I only ordered the shakes to start with and Ive actually quite liked them all exept the strawberry but I can just about manage that. I split the chocolate into 2 to make 2 hot chocolates to keep me going in the evening and the other 2 I have cold blended with ice. I tend to use a lot more water in them than they say so I hope that is ok.

The best buy I made to start with was my blender as it makes light work of mixing the shakes. Ive also bought a couple of boxes of the tesco meal replacement bars for when Im at work and found them quite nice.

I have 13 weeks until I go on hols and would like to be 14 st something for that. I hope its do able. I know it wouldn't be on any other diet.

I thought Id start a diary so I could look back on the journey and see how Ive managed.

Welcome, well done for sticking that first horrible week and good luck for your future losses!

No matter how much weight in numbers you manage to lose by your holiday, you will look and feel tonnes better by then because you WILL have lost plenty by sticking to it!

Good morning Briar Rose and welcome :hug99: xx

Good luck with your first weigh in :)

Thanks guys,

Im on day 7 now and feeling better in myself. No headache this morning and I don't feel tired. Just had a banana milkshake for breakfast and will have a bar for lunch. Im going to try drinking a bit more today too.

The trousers I have been wearing are now too big so I fished out another pair from my ( too small bin bags ). They are still a size 24 but are a smaller 24 if you know what I mean! Can't wait till Im a 22 as have loads of clothes in that size.

Im not going to buy any new clothes unless I can help it though as I have heaps here, unless its off ebay. Im going to save the pennies and have a spend before my hols.

Good plan for the clothes - I sorted through my 4 boxes of clothes and made sure I only had NICE stuff to slim in to, got rid of anything tatty or scruffy. Not planning to be at each size for too long, so wasn't fussed about only having a few bits at size 18/16, few more at 14 and then more at 8/10/12. I've done some planning financially and am looking forward to spending *some* of the money I've saved by having exante (about 15 a week) on a whole new wardrobe of things from nice shops in the January sales.

Hello :) welcome to exante.

I'm sure you'll reach your goal. I used to be a size 24, now in a 16... Even a 14 if I'm lucky. You'll feel wonderful by the time you go on holiday.

Good luck lovely xxx

I think I should sort my clothes out weevil, I have just kept loads not even thinking if I like them or not.

Thanks for that Sarah, I can't remember being a 16 , I think it was before I had the kids which is getting on for 17 years now. I got down to a comfy size 20 2 years ago on ww and felt much better, even letting people photograph me. I keep reading everyone else's diarys on here though and can see with will power I can get down to what I want.

I have set a goal of 12st for now but defiantly won't get there in 13 weeks but if I jump back on after my hols it is do-able. I think I was in my late teens the last time I saw that number on the scales.

The best of it was I wasn't that big growing up. Yes I had puppy fat and was a bit bigger than my friends but only by a size. When I met my hubby 24 years ago I was a size 12 and I had been for along time. I think I got too content and liked eating takeaways and meals out too much so gradually gained a bit of weight each year.

This is such a friendly forum Im feeling like I will have the support to do this. Thanks everyone. :0)

I had a really good day today. I split my vanilla shake this evening and made it with loads more water. I drank half as a shake blended with ice and the other half I had later on with coffee, sweetener and microwaved.

I haven't felt hungry today which is the first time. Got the really bad taste now, had that for a few days and only had a slight headache earlier but that disapeared after lots of drinks.

Im so excited for my first weigh in tomorrow. I know I have lost because I can see it. My face even looks thinner! So lets see what the exante fairy brings tomorrow.

I'm excited for you! How did you do? xxx

I lost 13lb !!!!! I can't believe it.

I lost that amount on weight watchers in 5 weeks in January and then put it all back on and now its gone in a week. This is amazing stuff.

I know I have been reading all the diaries on here showing big losses but I didn't think it would happen to me. So so happy today!!!!

Woweeee! Flipping fantastic :D well done you. That's a big chunk towards your goal gone already :)

WOW!!!! That is just absolutely fantastic! Well done xxxx

amazing first weeks loss :D I started as a 24-26 and now a 14 . I bought most of my clotes from charity shops whilst loosing as no way I wanted to spend money on clothes I wasnt going to be in long !!! Apart from 1 pair of huge trousers I wanted to keep my husband burnt all my big clothes in a ritual at the bottom of the garden !!!!

Wow what a fantastic week one weight loss! Am thrilled for you, well done :happy036::hug99: xx

Well I have had an awful day today. Headache from hell and hungry to the point I couldn't concentrate. I did so well yesterday. The only thing I can think of is not drinking enough so Im on a mission tonight to drink, drink, drink. I also had 2 boiled eggs at tea time. It was either that or a whole meal and I wanted to last a bit longer before I go onto ws.

Anyway I feel much better now. The headache has gone and Im not hungry. Ive kept half my chocolate shake for another hot chocolate a bit later.

I can't believe what a difference not having enough to drink does to you but then when you are eating normally so much of your food contains water as well.

Thanks for all the encouragement though. :)

I think making sure you drink enough water is the key to this diet.
Also by recognising it's thirst and not hunger alot of the time, will surely help once we hit target and start to re-feed.

Hope you're having a fab day :hug99: xx

Well a good day today. Felt ok all day and not hungry. Ive had 2 shakes a bar and Ive added 2 eggs and a few pieces of thin sliced ham. So not total and not working solution either as the calories only add up to 790. Just felt I needed that little bit extra. I will have to see how it goes with the food or if I should just go full on working solution as it will make my life easier with socialising etc.

I don't know what the losses are like comparing the 2 methods.

Im also finding it hard to drink to much in the day. i have about a litre before work and then about a 3/4 litre all day till I get home. I don't have access to a loo all the time at work as I go out and about so it can be difficult to go. So I'm trying to drink a lot more in the evening.

I had a sneak peak on the scales which I know I shouldn't as your body changes day to day but they hadn't moved.
