Broken toe question?

Hi all,

Well about 4.5 weeks ago I think I broke my toe (the one next to my little toe). I never bothered to go and get it checked out as they don't really do anything for a broken toe.

My question is...how long should I expect to be experiencing swelling and pain with it? It's definitely less swollen than it was, but it still seems fatter than usual. Also, I'm still getting some pain in it despite only wearing flat shoes since it happened (no attempt at wearing my lovely high heels! ). Does anyone have any experience of broken toes and how long they take to heal properly? I'm having high heels withdrawal symptoms, lol!

Awwwwwww bless, my sister broke her toe a couple of years ago & I know it took ages to heal, I'll speak to her & see if I can find out more info x

When I broke my toe, it was taped to the next one which acted as a kind of splint.

Ive just spoke to my sister, she said it took 6 wks of pain before it started to feel better, then another 2 wks to sort of get better, so about 8wks, hope that helps x

Hi! Bones normally take about 6 weeks or so to knit together. If you have a minor injuries unit use by, they will be able to strap it for you x hope the pain eases soon x

I broke my little toe a few years back and it took about 6ish weeks before the bruising went and the swelling went down but it was still hurting until week 9 or so.

It was a couple of months for me, but I had other damage to my foot as well. Problem is with toes that it is almost impossible to keep them still!
