Cambridge made me sick!

#1
I've just surfaced after a day throwing up and a day recovering. I took my first Cambridge sachet and was pretty sick about an hour or so afterwards. Apparently sometimes people with iron deficiency problems can have sickness after using Cambridge. Don't quote me, that was the basic idea.

Whatever it was, Cambridge did not agree with me and I've had to sell the stuff back and go down a different weightloss route. The thought of taking another one and being so ill again just puts me right off even if I did half measures to get used to it. I was just interested to know if anyone else has had similar problems with CD??

I had to stop doing CD it did not agree with me at all, it didnt make me sick but when I went to the loo  my blood pressure would drop so low I would be on the verge of passing out. No matter what I did nothing would help so I to had to try a more conventional way to lose weight and so far so good.

So good luck with the change :D

Hey I also had this problem and had no idea what it was! It has only happened to me once but is it dangerous? Do you think it'll happen again?

Sorry to hear it made you feel so sick. Sometimes the high concentration of vitamins and minerals can have that effect at the beginning of the diet. Cambridge advise that you dilute the shakes with more water to make it easier on your stomach, or too be sure to drink plenty of water after your shake.

Did you discuss this with your CDC and ask for advice? Or were you just completely put off by being sick? CD isn't for everyone though so good luck with however you decide to lose weight:)

It didnt happen all the time, maybe 3 times in 2 weeks, but it scared me a lot  and being at home with the little ones it was not a good idea.

Hi there, my CDC said it could be the high concentration of vits and minerals. I have to say it was enough to put me right off. I felt very ill for a whole day and hate being sick anyway. I decided it wasn't for me but have really kick started a healthy eating plan. As I'd already gone through carb withdrawal I decided not to make the mistake of going straight back on them and am eating protein and salads/stir fry meals. My weight loss may be slower but I'll still be happy to lose.

To be a bit ironic - I guess you still technically lost some weight on the Cambridge Diet, albeit by being sick.......Sorry, that's just my warped mind there!

It is a hardcore diet. On my first time I stopped because *whispers*......my hair started falling out!

I lost 4lb!! so yes it's true. I have already lost over a stone before I started Cambridge. I'm not continuing it but I will certainly continue with weightloss. As a result of borking  I didn't drink tea and haven't had a cuppa for 4 days which is a blinkin miracle for me! That also means no spoon of sugar in it. (harder to give up the sugar than the tea!) and I worked out today that in just 4 days I've saved about 25 spoons of sugar!!!!

I heard about someone else losing hair on CD. Someone else I know had their hair fall out after rapid weight loss following surgery. I still wanna be thin tho ;)
