Right - in 24 hours, I'm off to sunny Scarborough with my 3 kids. Has anyone got any tips for making the experience as stress-free as possible for me?
Am starting to get colly-wobbles about it lol.

Ah but my youngest can't read yet LMTO!

Good idea tho - might have to nick my eldest's ipod and find a happy place! lol

I'm off with my brood in mid-August, and I fully intend to take a huge stack of books and a personal CD player!! After all, it's my holiday too! :D

Difficult holidays

Well, my holidays did not go at all as planned this year, I went with my boyfriend of less than a year and realised while on hols that the relationship was not for me at all and sadly we parted company afterwards.
So good luck with yours Isobel, that can't happen with your children anyway!

Wanna bet? lol

Sorry to hear that, hun - but if he wasn't for you - there will be plenty others who are!

Have fun looking, anyway!

Oh bluddy hell- 12 hours before I have to set off and I got palpitations just thinking about it!
Loading up the car - driving there - putting the fecken tent up - aarrrggghhh!!!!!!

Wish me luck, everyone! I will surely need it!

You'll be fine honey!! My theory with holidays is to keep them fed, watered and entertained and pretty much everything else takes care of itself!! Books, puzzles, etc for rainy days; football, swingaball for playtime; and a little bit of spending money each to buy what they want!

The best thing about where we are going this year is that they have 'Kiddies Clubs' so we know there are going to be plenty of things for them to do. Essential when you consider there are 9 of us going altogether and age ranges goes from 2 - 13 years with the kids, and 40 y/o children *ahem* men!!

Deep Breaths!!

Isy,

You'll be fine girl!!! Chill out!! As far as erections and putting up tents-don't sweat it hun;) There's bound to be some willing male offering to help a helpless (NOT!) female in her hour of need. Just smile sweetly and let him do it for you-it'll make his day! LOL.... and voila.....a tent appears!!

Hi Isobel,

I hope you have a great holiday.

When we as children went for a long drive in the car we sang songs and counted the different colours of cars; coloured cars were a novelty in my day:(

Just found our favourite song!!!

This Old Man

This old man, he played one
He played knick-knack on my thumb
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played two
He played knick-knack on my shoe
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played three
He played knick-knack on my knee
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played four
He played knick-knack on my door
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played five
He played knick-knack on my hive
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played six
He played knick-knack on my sticks
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played seven
He played knick-knack up in heaven
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played eight
He played knick-knack on my gate
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played nine
He played knick-knack on my spine
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

This old man, he played ten
He played knick-knack once again
Knick-knack paddywhack, give your dog a bone
This old man came rolling home
