A friend of mine is resisting starting the cambridge diet because he doesn't want to stop going to the gym. He would like to loose 1-2 stone and currently goes tot he gym twice a week - he is also reluctant to give up alcohol.

Does anybody have any advice I could give him that would make Cambridge a viable option for him?? Maybe doing 790 or an even giher step?

Thanks

To start with it would be NO ACHOHOL even on the other plans.
The gym is not too much of a problem so long as he dosen't over do it, for the first couple of weeks anyway. Because he would be taking in so few calories, so nothing too strenuous.

Yep, but he needs to take it easy. I wouldn't suggest anything other than resistance training (weights) and walking. Anything else would be putting too much of a strain on his system with such few calories and may hinder weight loss if his body goes into starvation mode.

If you use the search function, there was a thread about this a couple of weeks back. It had some of the science behind this provided by icemoose!! Defo worth a look.
