can you lose inches and not lose weight?

Like I mentioned in my other post I have been exercising and dieting to lose 60 pounds in 6 months for a week now. I use a girdle when doing cardio, and when its time to take it out, my mid section (stomatch and back) are dripping wet. Will this speed up my process in losing fat/inches around those areas? (MY WAIST).....could i be losing inches instead of weight?

I have no idea whether the girdle will increase inch loss or not. However, it's perfectly possible to lose inches and not weight. This can happen if ou're retaining water and/or adding muscle. If you are losing inches then you are still losing fat - so it's all good.

I don't think you can lose from one area specifically. If you are sweating you are losing water and this will be replaced as soon as you drink anything. You will lose weight all over your body, but some parts might seem like they are taking longer than others. You body can't tell the difference between fat in one place and another.
